Copper oxide nanoparticles were anchored on sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS)-functionalized macroporous carbon by utilizing the supramolecular self-assembly of SDS acting as a soft template. The as-prepared composite provides new features of electrocatalytic activities and may hold great promise for the design of environmental sensors.

Flower-like gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) were fabricated in surfactant-PMo(12) hybrid assemblies, where PMo(12) served as a UV-switchable reducing agent for producing Au-NPs and the organic surfactant matrices played the role of a soft template for the formation of flower-like structure of Au-NPs.

The morphological evolution of PANI helixes was achieved without the use of chiral dopants, but by a facile process through the generation of onion-like multi-lamellar vesicles used as a novel soft-template and a liquid crystal acting as a promoter for PANI polymerization and self-assembly, which is a breakthrough for the synthesis of helical structures.
