This paper deals with a one possibility of improvement of a self-tuning controller reliability and performance. A simple estimation scheme is replaced by so-called a multiestimation scheme and the self-tuning controller is then synthesized from this scheme. A higher level switching structure between various estimation schemes is used to supervise the reparametrization of the self-tuning control...

Anomalous dimensions of Wilson operators with large Lorentz spin scale logarithmically with the spin. Recent multi-loop QCD calculations of twist-two anomalous dimensions revealed the existence of interesting structure of the subleading corrections suppressed by powers of the Lorentz spin. We argue that this structure is a manifestation of the 'self-tuning' property of the multi-loop anomalous ...

This paper presents a performance analysis of the Identiier Splitting Algorithm combined with polling, a contention resolution scheme used to inform the Base Station about the bandwidth needs of the Mobile Station in a wireless ATM network. An analytical model leads to the evaluation of performance parameters which determine the throughput and the access delay of the algorithm for diierent syst...

In this paper, the basics of the three tuning approaches of the evolving CoReMo Plagiarism Detector are shown, focused for the Text Alignment task. In the last PAN edition, it was observed that the different corpora could condition the necessary tuning, and the results using an overfitted tuning from a different corpus could be far from the...

Systems do not elect thermodynamic pathways on their own. They operate in tandem with their surroundings. Pathway selection and traversal require coordinated work and heat exchanges along with parallel tuning of the system variables. Previous research by the author (Reference [1]) focused on the information expressed in thermodynamic pathways. Examined here is how spectral entropy is a by-produ...

Line attractor networks have long served as the standard model of short-term memory systems for analogue variables. In this study, we investigate the stability of attractor states for a line attractor with monotonic tuning curves. We furthermore quantify the stability of network states against noise and show how the lifetime of short-term memory states depends on the level of neural noise.

In a heterogeneous, dynamic environment, like Grid, post-mortem analysis is of no use and data needs to be collected and analysed in real time. Novel techniques are also required for dynamically tuning the application’s performance and resource brokering in order to maintain the desired QoS. The objective of this paper is to propose an integrated framework for performance analysis and tuning of...

To what extent do the mechanisms generating different receptive field properties of neurons depend on each other? We investigated this question theoretically within the context of orientation and direction tuning of simple cells in the mammalian visual cortex. In our model a cortical cell of the "simple" type receives its orientation tuning by afferent convergence of aligned receptive fields of...

This paper proposes a novel particle filtering framework for multi-target tracking by using online learned class-specific and instancespecific cues, called Data-Driven Particle Filtering (DDPF). The learned cues include an online learned geometrical model for excluding detection outliers that violate geometrical constraints, global pose estimators shared by all targets for particle refinement, ...

a novel technique is investigated for pid controller adaptation in order to control thetemperature of a liquid-phase reactor tank by using a heat exchanger system. as for nonlinearity, time delay problems and model uncertainties introduced by the heat exchanger, an interval type-2fuzzy system (it2fs) is implemented to enhance and improve the total control performance.moreover, the fuzzy inferenc...
