Randomly left or right truncated observations occur when one is concerned with estimation of the distribution of time between two events and when one only observes the time if one of the two events falls in a fixed time-window, so that longer survival times have higher probability to be part of the sample than short survival times. In important AIDSapplications the time between seroconversion a...

‎In this paper‎, ‎using fixed point method‎, ‎we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of‎ ‎random homomorphisms in random $C^*$-algebras and random Lie $C^*$-algebras‎ ‎and of derivations on Non-Archimedean random C$^*$-algebras and Non-Archimedean random Lie C$^*$-algebras for‎ ‎the following $m$-variable additive functional equation:‎ ‎$$sum_{i=1}^m f(x_i)=frac{1}{2m}left[sum_{i=1}^mfle...

Randomly left or right truncated observations occur when one is concerned with estimation of the distribution of time between two events and when one only observes the time if one of the two events falls in a xed time-window, so that longer survival times have higher probability to be part of the sample than short survival times. In important AIDS-applications the time between seroconversion an...

Given a permutation σ $$ \sigma , its corresponding binary search tree is obtained by recursively inserting the values ( 1 ) … n (1),\dots, (n) into so that label of each node larger than labels left subtree and smaller right subtree. In this article, we study height trees drawn from record-biased model permutations whose probability measure on set proportional to θ record {\theta}^{\mathrm{rec...

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a rare congenital anomaly of the diaphragm with an incidence of 1:2000-5000 of live births. This study retrospectively evaluated patients who had been operated on for CDH at our department of Pediatric Surgery between January 2013 and December 2016. The Demographic Data and outcomes of right CDH cases (Group 1) were compared with left CDH cases (Group 2).

Previous research supported that the prevalence of addiction is related to brain laterality. Brain laterality is often determined by left/right handedness and this phenomenon is considered as an important factor in addiction prevalence. The present study attempts to examine the relationships between left/right handedness with addiction and smoking on Iranian population. In this study, 2000 male...

Objective: In order to identify users’ visual attention to left- and right-aligned menus on web pages, fixation count index (FCI) was assessed for both left and right menus using eye tracker to determine which menu is preferred by users in terms of visual attention. Methodology: In total, 116 pages with their menus aligned to left or right, classified into three groups, namely Persian pages, En...

Let X be a standard Gaussian random variable. For any p ∈ (1, ∞), we prove the existence of universal constant Cp > 0 such that inequality $${\mathbb{E}\left({\left| {{h^\prime }{{\left(X \right)}^p}} \right|} \right)^{1/p}} \ge {C_p}\sqrt d {\left({\mathbb{E}{{\left| {h\left(X \right)} \right|}^p}} \right)^{1/p}}$$ holds for all ≥ 1 and polynomials h: ℝ → ℂ whose spectrum is supported on frequ...

In this paper, we provide a new nonparametric estimator of the joint distribution of two lifetimes under random right censoring and left truncation, which can be seen as a bivariate extension of the Kaplan-Meier estimator. We derive asymptotic results for this estimator, including uniform n1/2−consistency, and develop a general methodology to study bivariate lifetime modelling, which is a criti...

Purpose: This study is designed to determine the sex differences in volume of the left parahippocampal cortex in right-handed normal subjects and the right-handed subjects which were suffered from Alzheimer and parkinson diseases. Materials and Methods: This study was performed on 72 normal human brains (38 males, 34 females), 11 brains suffered from Alzheimer (4 males, 7 females), and 13 brai...
