A new magnesium aluminophosphate JU92-300 with novel zeotype structure and 8-ring channels has been prepared by calcination of microporous JU-92 under 300 °C. Well dispersed C-dots are prepared by using JU92-300 as a support host. Such C-dots@zeolite materials exhibit excitation-dependent photoluminescent behavior, as well as tunable fluorescence with high quantum yields.

Dibutylated single-walled carbon nanotubes (Bu-SWNTs-Bu) with varying degrees of functionalization were prepared by two-step reductive alkylation and subsequent thermal treatment. A new photoluminescence peak at around 1240 nm was observed and increased drastically after the thermal treatment. The results indicate that thermally treated Bu-SWNTs-Bu are promising NIR photoluminescent materials.

A novel mixed-valent Ag(I)/Ag(II) coordination polymer {[Ag(I)(2)Ag(II)(0.5)(SO(4))(HSO(4))(pyz)(2.5)]·H(2)O}(n) (1, pyz = pyrazine) was synthesized and characterized. The results show it presents semiconducting and photoluminescent properties.

Reversible piezochromic luminescence and aggregation induced emission properties of 4,4'-((Z,Z)-1,4-diphenylbuta-1,3-diene-1,4-diyl)dibenzoic acid are reported. The photoluminescent color of it changes from blue to yellow-green upon grinding, which can be restored upon exposure to a solvent. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding plays a key role in the altered emission.
