Cinnamon is a traditional herb used for treatment of many human diseases. The most important chemical compounds of the essential oil are cinnamaldehyde and eugenol. Oleum cinnamomi (OCM, cinnamon oil) is increasingly used as a feed additive to animal diets. Beneficial effects of OCM in protecting tissues from inflammation and injury by endogenous and exogenous agents (such as hydrogen peroxide ...

The facile and clean oxidative biaryl coupling reaction of thiophenes and pyrroles has been achieved using the recyclable hypervalent iodine(III) reagents having adamantane or methane structures. These iodine(III) reagents could be recovered from the reaction mixtures by a simple solid-liquid separation, i.e., filtration.

High activity towards oxidative coupling of methane and high selectivity for C2 hydrocarbons could be achieved over La2O3 nanorods with a large surface area, strong surface basic sites, electron deficient surface oxygen species and defined surface structure compared with La2O3 nanoparticles at low temperature.

We describe a three-step bromine-mediated process for oxidative coupling of methane using O2 as oxidant. In the first step, a supported metal bromide solid is treated with O2 to generate Br2 and supported metal oxide. The Br2 thus formed reacts with excess CH4, giving a mixture of CH4, bromomethanes, and HBr. This mixture is passed over a CaO/zeolite composite which condenses bromocarbons with ...
