当院にてリバース型人工肩関節置換術（RSA）を施行した53例55肩に対し，RSA合併症の一つであるscapular notchingの発生頻度を調査した．また，notchingあり群となし群に分け，年齢，性別，BMI，観察期間，機種別（In-layとOn-lay），術後臨床成績，肩関節自動可動域について両群間で比較検討した．scapular notchingの発生頻度は8肩（14.5％）であり，年齢，性別，BMI，術後経過観察期間において差を認めなかった．In-lay type 22肩中5肩（22.7％），On-lay 33肩中3肩（9.1％）に認め，機種間での発生に差を認めなかった．また，両群ともJOAスコア，肩関節自動屈曲・外転では術前後で改善を認めたが，内外旋では変化を認めなかった．群間比較では，術前後のJOAスコア，肩関節自動可動域に変化を認めなかった．
