The paper describes a simulation approach based on Saaty’s Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assess the probability of winning in sealed auctions where competing bids are assessed on a multiple criteria basis. It deals with the uncertainty associated with subjective and multiple assessments. Deuxième Congrès International Franco-Québécois de Génie Industriel ALBI 1997

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to detect the occurrence of parasites in fish in Armand River, Chaharmahal va Bakhtyari Province regarding the importance of native fish population in the river. METHODS The occurrence of parasites was investigated in 6 native fish (Capoeta capoeta, C. damascina, C. aculeta, Barbus barbulus, B. grypus and Glyptothorax silviae) collected from the current ma...

The objective of this study was to quantify and determine the periodicity in the release of the triactinomyxon (TAM) stage of Myxobolus cerebralis, the causative agent of salmonid whirling disease, by its aquatic oligochaete host Tubifex tubifex. For this, 24 individual T. tubifex (infected as a group at 15 C) were examined daily for the release of M. cerebralis TAMs, and the number of waterbor...

Myxobolus bilobus n. sp. (Myxozoa) is described from golden shiner Notemigonus crysoleucas in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Plasmodia develop at the distal end of gill filaments, where they form a novel-shaped plasmodium made up of 2 side-by-side hemispheres joined at a central pore. Surrounding gill tissue is vacuolated, necrotic, and hemorrhagic. Spores of M. bilobus n. sp. resemble those ...

Myxobolus gayerae sp. n. and M. leuciscini González-Lanza & Alvarez-Pellitero, 1985 (Myxozoa: Myxobolidae) have been described and re-described from European chub Leuciscus cephalus L. from the Hungarian stretch of the river Danube. The ellipsoidal plasmodia of M. gayerae sp. n. were found in the mucosa of the intestinal wall, whereas the large, elongated plasmodia of M. leuciscini infected the...

Echinactinomyxon-type actinospores were found in a mixed-species oligochaete culture originating from the Temperate Water Fish Hatchery near Budapest, Hungary. On the basis of DNA sequence analysis, the actinospores were identified as Myxobolus pavlovskii (Akhmerov, 1954), the 18S rDNA sequence from myxospores of which is available in GenBank. During seasonal epizootics of neurologic disease and mass mortality in the summers of 1992, 1993 and 1994 on a sea-farm in Ireland, Atlantic salmon Salmo salar smolts suffered from encephalitis associated with infection by a neurotropic parasite. Based on ultrastructural studies, this neurotropic parasite was identified as an intercellular presporogonic multicellular developmental stage of a hi...

A new cnidarian myxosporean infecting the spleen of an economic and ecological important bryconid fish (Salminus franciscanus) is described based on integrative taxonomic approach including morphological, ultrastructural, biological traits, geography, molecular data phylogenetic analysis. In a total thirty specimens examined, nineteen (63.3%) were infected by undescribed parasite species belong...

In this study, two halophilic bacterial strains isolated from saline habitats in Argentina grew in the presence of gas oil. They were identified as Halomonas spp. and Nesterenkonia sp. by 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing. Chemotaxis towards gas oil was observed in Halomonas spp. by using swimming assays.
