In this paper, we propose an evolutionary game model to analyze the investment decision making process in the cyber offender-defender interaction and provide a quantified approach for defender to calculate the safety threshold to avoid the occurrence of offender-leading game. Then we use simulation as a workbench to discuss the adjustment of each parameter to the security investment threshold. ...

This paper describes the integration of a knowledge-based system (KBS) within a very large COBOL/DB2-based offender management system. The knowledge-based application, developed for the purpose of offender sentence calculation, is shown to provide several benefits including a shortened development cycle, simplified maintenance, and improved accuracy over a previous COBOL-based application.

The capacity for aerial maneuvering was likely a major influence on the evolution of flying animals. Here we evaluate consequences of paravian morphology for aerial performance by quantifying static stability and control effectiveness of physical models for numerous taxa sampled from within the lineage leading to birds (Paraves). Results of aerodynamic testing are mapped phylogenetically to exa...

For irregular extended object and group target tracking (IEOT and IGTT), using a random matrix to simplify the extension as an ellipsoid, although efficient, may not be accurate without losing useful information in shape and orientation. In view of this, we consider modeling an irregular extended object or target group as a combination of multiple regular sub-objects. Each sub-object can be des...

An atmospheric differential drag based adaptive Lyapunov controller, originally proposed by the authors in previous work for spacecraft rendezvous, is here generalized allowing for the tracking of reference trajectories or dynamics. Differential drag is based on the ability to vary a satellite’s cross wind surface area, and it represents a propellant-free alternative to thrusters to control rel...

Crime, Victim and Offender have been focused by many criminologists as builders of criminology’s scientific triangle up to today. Meanwhile, the offender can be considered as the most important side of the triangle. There is no doubt that criminal biologists are leaders of the study of criminal characteristics. Biologists who have accepted the criminal type and believed that the offenders...

This paper presents a novel approach to on-line trajectory planning of robot arms for the interception of a fastmaneuvering object under torque and velocity constraints. Especially, the trajectory planning in the Y direction employs a missile guidance algorithm to intercept the maneuvering object. The proposed method yields that a robot arm can smoothly grasp a maneuvering object. Simulation re...
