In the disassembling process context, the supervision and control system assumes very large dimensions, represented by the need to automatically plan the disassembly process of the end-of-life product, including generation of product model, identification of the best sequence of operations, planning the actors (persons and machines) and programming the machines used to perform this task. This p...
The continuing emergence of virtual reality (VR) for training, industrial and entertainment applications increases the need for highly capable haptic interfaces into these VR environments. For certain subsets of tasks in these application areas, existing methods for interfacing haptic devices to VR applications suffice. However, for operators performing manual control tasks, many of the pre-exi...
An Integrated System for Cooperative Man-Machine Interaction C. Bauckhage, G.A. Fink, J. Fritsch, F. Kummert, F. L omker, G. Sagerer, S. Wachsmuth Technical Faculty, Bielefeld University P.O. Box 33594, Bielefeld, Germany http://www.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de/techfak/ags/ai/ Abstract To establish robotic applications in human environments as e.g. o ces or private homes the robotic systems must b...
| We present a real-time camerabased system designed for gaze tracking focused on human-computer communication. We aim to equip computer systems with a tool which can provide visual information about the user. This tool must satisfy interaction constraints and be not intrusive. Therefore we use a CCD camera, placed between the keyboard and the screen. The system detects the user presence, locat...
We present in this paper a system for knowledge management in graphics recognition systems. This system is based on user approach through two man machine interfaces for “content-based” and “structure-based” knowledge management. With these two man machine interfaces, the users can browse, structure, and request the systems’ knowledge bases. This user approach illustrates than the knowledge is u...
In this paper, we use the rollout method for policy improvement to analyze a version of Klondike solitaire. This version, sometimes called thoughtful solitaire, has all cards revealed to the player, but then follows the usual Klondike rules. A strategy that we establish, using iterated rollouts, wins about twice as many games on average as an expert human player does.
