The separation performance of inorganic anions ReO4(-), Br(-), SO4(2-), and NO3(-) using porphyrin-alkaloid quaternary salt transporters is examined using parallel artificial membrane permeability assay. Active and selective transport of perrhenate is achieved by porphyrin-brucine conjugates. Herein, chlorides are used as antiporters and complete removal of perrhenates from a source solution is...

Beyond hydrogen storage: The first example of reversible magnesium deposition/stripping onto/from an inorganic salt was seen for a magnesium borohydride electrolyte. High coulombic efficiency of up to 94 % was achieved in dimethoxyethane solvent. This Mg(BH(4))(2) electrolyte was utilized in a rechargeable magnesium battery.

We have used density functional calculations to examine the (101) surfaces of KDP, under vacuum, nitrogen, and aqueous conditions, and these simulations are found to agree well with nanoscale experimental studies demonstrating that the density functional calculations are providing a good description of the surfaces of this complex inorganic salt.

We report a novel and versatile approach for fabricating ordered nanoring arrays of metals, metal oxides, and other inorganic materials with diameter of sub-50 nm by loading the salt precursors in P4VP cores of PS-b-P4VP thin film and exposing these to methanol vapor which results in the P4VP blocks shrinking to form nanorings.

In the title mol-ecular salt, (C(5)H(6)N(3)O(2))[ReO(4)], the cations and tetrahedral anions are linked by trifurcated N-H⋯(O,O,O) and bifurcated N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds, as well as weak C-H⋯O inter-actions. This results in alternating corrugated inorganic and organic layers in the crystal.

Excised roots of barley (Hordeum vulgare, var. Campana) were incubated for periods up to 24 hours in salt solutions of various concentrations and ion accumulation was determined at various time intervals. The data were consistent with the existence of 2 components of ion uptake, one accounting for ion uptake from solutions below 1 mm and both components contributing to uptake from solutions of ...

In the title salt, (C7H7N2)2[CuCl4]·2H2O, the Cu2+ cation is coordinated by four Cl atoms and adopts a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Two mol-ecules of imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine are protonated ensuring electrical neutrality. O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the organic and the inorganic moieties, leading to a self-organized hydrated hybrid structure.

A SO3H-functionalized ionic liquid was used as an alternative to conventional inorganic acids in hydroxylamine stabilization, leading to the formation of a novel hydroxylamine ionic liquid salt that exhibits improved thermal stability and reactivity in the one-step, solvent-free synthesis of caprolactam in comparison with hydroxylamine hydrochloride and hydroxylamine sulfate.

Zinc sulfate is an inorganic compound: the sulfate salt of zinc and a good source of zinc ions. The molecular 40 formula for zinc sulfate is ZnSO4. A graphic representation of the structure of zinc sulfate is shown in figure 1 41 (Pubchem, 2014). Zinc sulfate appears geologically as a white crumbly salt efflorescence known as “goslarite.” 42 Goslarite, the heptahydrate of zinc sulfate was first...
