In present pilot study aimed to estimate, presence of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) antibodies in the human serum samples originating from North India using "Indigenous absorbed ELISA kit" (ELISA kit). The phase I, "ELISA kit" was optimized using protoplasmic antigen from native isolate of MAP "Indian Bison type" recovered from the biopsies of Crohn's disease patients. T...

Recently, anti-deamidated gliadin antibodies were proposed for the serological diagnosis of celiac disease. We evaluate the specificity of different anti-deamidated gliadin antibodies ELISA in comparison with conventional anti-native gliadin kits. Serum samples from 46 non celiac patients were analyzed by five different quantitative ELISA for anti-native gliadin, anti-deamidated gliadin and ant...

BACKGROUND RF(Rheumatoid factor) is usually thought to cause positive interference in immunoassay. Recently, our study showed that high-concentration RFs caused negative interference as well as positive interference in serum HBsAg(Hepatitis B surface antigen) ELISA(Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), but it is unclear that RF causing negative interference is an anomaly produced by a certain ELI...

The commercial ELISA kit (IDEXX HerdCheck PRRS) has been the main serodiagnostic tool for PRRS virus (PRRSV) in North America and many pig producing regions throughout the world. Although the kit has been mostly a reliable test for detecting PRRSV exposure at the herd level, the specificity of the kit has been frequently challenged by the occurrence of unexpected false positive results at varyi...

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is the 10th leading cause of death worldwide. The most important diagnostic and screening marker for HBV infection is Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and the most widely used HBsAg screening test is Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). In this study, an ELISA assay has been developed for detection of HBsAg using two novel monoclonal antibodies (mAb) ...

A diagnostic kit using an immunochromatographic device was developed to replace the time-consuming immunodiagnostic methods for human sparganosis. The kit was found to be faster and easier to use than an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and showed higher sensitivity and specificity. It will be useful for the laboratory diagnosis of hospitalized cases of sparganosis.

BACKGROUND Eosinophil-derived neurotoxin (EDN), also called eosinophil protein X (EPX), has been suggested to be a useful marker of eosinophilic inflammation. However, no commercial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit for EDN is available yet. METHODS EDN was purified from pooled urine from healthy male volunteers. Polyclonal and monoclonal anti-EDN antibodies were subsequently rais...

Background/aim: This study included patients who had digestive system complaints between August 2015 and October 2015. The research was designed to compare conventional microscopy with an antigen detection ELISA kit and the TaqMan-based real-time PCR (RT-PCR) technique for detection of Giardia intestinalis in human stool specimens. Materials and methods: Samples were concentrated by formalin-et...

The neurotoxin β-N-methylamino-L-alanine (BMAA) is suspected to play a role in Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Because BMAA seems to be produced by cyanobacteria, surface waters are screened for BMAA. However, reliable analysis of BMAA requires specialized and expensive equipment. In 2012, a commercial enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for det...

The BIOLINE Salmonella ELISA Test for Salmonella spp., which is a rapid, easy, and convenient assay was evaluated for use in detecting Salmonella in foods and feeds. Each food matrix or feed was artificially contaminated with low levels of Salmonella. Twenty different matrixes were studied and 20 different Salmonella strains from a broad variety of serogroups (B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, M, O, P, a...
