Abstract “Queer” is a relatively recent and somewhat controversial term in African studies. Yet it proving to be productive, not only for understanding subjectivities of sexuality gender, but also situating Africa’s position the larger economy knowledge. Otu van Klinken explore productive tensions between “queer” “Africa,” aim read Africa as queer from Africa. Thus, rather than imagining polar ...

The scalability of cache coherency schemes plays a major role in the overall performance of any scalable distributed system that utilises client data caching. In particular, transactional cache coherency algorithms must be scalable if the systems that are built around them, such as persistent object stores, are to be scalable. The avoidance-based transactional cache coherency [Hughes 1998] algo...

Fractions obtained from partitioning of aerial methanolic extract of Euphorbia Aellenii with chloroform (E2), ethyl acetate (E3), n-butanol (E4) and water (E5) were investigated in vitro for their phytotoxicity, insecticidal, anti-leishmanial, cytotoxicity, antibacterial and antifungal activities. Sample E2 appeared to have significant phytotoxic activity. In the insecticidal screening study o...

The paper presents a solution for designing a cache coherency state machine for a multiprocessor system with error/correcting capabilities for the unidirectional errors and the used resources implied by a FPGA implementation of our solution. The cache coherency method used is based on the MESI protocol. The implementation is realized with FPGA by using the ALTERA Program.

The work of adhesion of bimaterial interfaces is commonly computed using quantum mechanical methods in which the two materials are strained into coherency. There is no relaxation of the coherency by the formation of an array of interfacial misfit dislocations, contrary to what is commonly observed for essentially all systems other than very thin films. In this paper, we investigate the errors i...

This project applies coherency methods for dynamic analysis of power systems. It has been observed that in case of disturbances machines swing together, forming groups of coherent generators. In [1], a dynamic network reduction is described based on a slow-coherency method, aggregating coherent generators into one equivalent machine. In [2] it is demonstrated that such methods can also be used ...

Two econometric issues arise in the estimation of complete systems of producer or consumer demands when many non-negativity constraints are binding for a large share of observations, as frequently occurs with micro-level data. The rst is computational. The econometric model is essentially an endogenous switching regimes model which requires the evaluation of multivariate probability integrals. ...
