We report a case of incidentally diagnosed chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in a patient with glioblastoma, which responded completely following standard treatment of the glioblastoma with temozolomide and cranial irradiation. The patient remained without an evidence of CLL until his death from recurrent glioblastoma. Further study of temozolomide for the treatment of CLL is indicated.

INTRODUCTION Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a clonal lymphoproliferative disorder characterized by progressive accumulation of morphologically and immunophenotypically mature lymphocytes. Characterization of genomic aberrations may help to understand the pathogenesis of CLL and may give prognostic information independent from conventional clinical markers for a risk-adapted management of...
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) rarely exhibits an aggressive clinical course and its patients often have chromosomal deletions or additions. Furthermore, reciprocal translocations are barely observed in CLL. There have only been a few reports of CLL with t(1;6), and here we report the first Asian case of CLL with reciprocal translocation t(1;6). Since our case and previously reported CLL pa...
Objective To report a case of Anti-Contactin-Associated Protein-like2 (CASPR-2) autoimmunity in patient with low-grade Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) following COVID-19 vaccination and infection. Background Anti-CASPR2 antibody disorder has been associated neoplastic disorders like thymoma. Recent reports enlist as apotential trigger CASPR2 autoimmunity. While the clinical presentations are...
Patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) are susceptible to infections, especially opportunistic infections. We have described a patient with CLL who had cryptococcal meningitis. Despite lack of previous immunosuppressive treatment history, the patient experienced serious and fatal fungal infection. Physicians should be alert for a diagnosis of cryptococcal meningitis in patient with CL...
Morphological differentiation between benign and malignant lymphoproliferative disorders (LPDs) can be challenging. Immunophenotyping (IPT) by either technique, flow cytometry or immunohistochemistry (IHC), is an important step in solving such difficulty. Thirty-five newly diagnosed patients with chronic B-cell neoplasms (11 chronic lymphocytic leukemia, 22 non Hodgkin lymphoma and 2 hairy cell...
Background: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common adult human leukemia. Studies revealed that microRNAs (miRNAs) can function as oncogenes or tumor suppressors in CLL and that the expression of miRNAs, such as miR-193b-3p and miR-376a-3p change in several diseases. We aimed to elucidate the changes in miR-193b-3p and miR-376a-3p expression in CLL and determine their potential as...
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common type of leukemia worldwide. It is an indolent disease, almost exclusively of B-cell origin. Some CLLs evolve into a more aggressive lymphoid malignancy. The most common of these is Richter's syndrome. Transformation to acute lymphoblastic leukemia, plasma cell leukemia, multiple myeloma, or Hodgkin's disease (HD) may also occur. CLL patients...
