We describe the MR findings in a case of chondroma arising from the falx. At MR imaging, the mass appeared well defined, lobulated, hypointense to isointense on T1-weighted images, and very heterogeneous with marked hyperintense areas on T2-weighted images. After contrast administration, this tumor enhanced slightly on delayed images.

We report an exceedingly rare case of scrotal extraosseous chondroma in a 63 year-old man that presented with a recently growing scrotal mass. The mass was excised and broke into three tan-white firm nodules ranging in size from 1.0 to 1.5 cm in greatest dimension. Histologic examination showed mature hyaline cartilage and the case was diagnosed as extraosseous chondroma. Except for those arisi...

A case of histopathologically proven extraskeletal osteochondroma of the thigh is presented along with its radiographic, CT and MRI findings. This is the first such case reported, to the best of our knowledge. The diagnosis of extraskeletal osteochondroma should be considered when a discrete ossified mass is localised in the soft tissue.

Extraskeletal chondroma is defined as a rare, benign, cartilaginous tumor arising from soft tissues such as tendons, tendon sheath synovia, and joint capsules with no continuity to the periosteum or bone cortex. In histopathologic findings, the tumor exhibits many lobular structures and some parts similar to hyaline cartilage. Therefore, it is sometimes difficult to differentiate this tumor fro...

Extraskeletal osteochondroma is a variant of extraskeletal chondromas that are uncommon soft-tissue cartilaginous tumors. These tumors may undergo extensive enchondral ossification to form an extraskeletal osteochondroma. This report describes the case of a 39-year-old Japanese man with an extraskeletal osteochondroma arising on the plantar aspect of the foot.
