BACKGROUND Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is a spectrum of disease with abnormal trophoblastic proliferation. Treatment is based on FIGO stage and WHO risk factor scores. Patients whose score is 12 or more are considered as at extremely high risk with a high likelihood of resistance to first line treatment. Optimal therapy is therefore controversial. OBJECTIVE This study was conduc...

ObjectiveIn 15% of patients with complete hydatidiform mole (CHM), disease progresses to post-molar gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) after curettage. Tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are essential in overcoming many tumors. Infiltrating lymphocyte composition and density may influence trophoblast regression development GTN. We analyzed immune cell curettaged endometrium CHM which ...

Background: Complete molar twin pregnancy with coexisting fetus is a rare and important diagnosis in obstetrics. Background: Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia develops from the cells which later form placenta. It ranges relatively benign partial and complete hydatidiform mole while choriocarcinoma rare placental site tumor are its malignant variants. The risk of developing gestational (GTN) is 15-17% after 3.5-4% mole1,2. This more in patients with high-risk molar pregnancy1,2. Aim: To evaluate role pro...

Choriocarcinoma is a malignant gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) and one of the curable types of gynecological cancer. However, 10% of choriocarcinoma patients have a poor prognosis, particularly when they have metastasis, apart from pulmonary metastasis, or do not go into remission by the second chemotherapeutic regimen. We herein present the case of a 36-year-old patient who had chori...

Background : Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) disease is excessive and inappropriate proliferation of trophoblast after termination of the pregnancy. Many attempts have been made to improve follow-up procedures, but no studies have evaluated Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) as a post treatment indicator. Thus we aimed to know β-HCG variability in post treatment pregnancies.   Meth...
