Dynamic motion of NH3-solvated Cu sites in Cu-chabazite (Cu-CHA) zeolites, which are the most promising and state-of-the-art catalysts for ammonia-assisted selective reduction NOx (NH3-SCR) aftertreatment diesel exhausts, represents a unique phenomenon linking heterogeneous homogeneous catalysis. This review first summarizes recent advances theoretical understanding such low-temperature dynamic...

The recovery and immobilization of metals from wastewater often occurs in an acidic environment that destroys the structure adsorbents such as zeolites, which are porous crystalline aluminosilicates. influence hydrochloric acid solutions on properties two natural mixtures heulandite (HEU) chabazite (CHA)—tuff Georgian Dzegvi-Tedzami deposit (HEU/CHA ≈ 8) rock Kazakhstani Chankanay (HEU/CHA≈1)—w...

High-quality chabazite (CHA) zeolite membranes were synthesized from organotemplate-free aluminosilicate gel via epitaxial growth using RHO-type seed layer. Both RHO seeds (Si/Al = 2.4) and the synthetic containing cesium species led to formation of CHA with a high Si/Al ratio 3.0 short synthesis time 12 h. The effects particles crystallization on membrane formation, pervaporation performance, ...

The Al siting in the ZSM-5 zeolite was investigated by (27)Al 3Q MAS NMR spectroscopy and QM/MM calculations. It was found that the occupation of the framework T-sites by Al and the concentration of Al in these T-sites are neither random nor controlled by a simple rule. They both depend on the conditions of the zeolite synthesis. At least 12 out of the 24 distinguishable framework T-sites of ZS...

The pyroclastic aggregate concrete of Trajan's Markets (110 CE), now Museo Fori Imperiali in Rome, has absorbed energy from seismic ground shaking and long-term foundation settlement for nearly two millenia while remaining largely intact at the structural scale. The scientific basis of this exceptional service record is explored through computed tomography of fracture surfaces and synchroton X-...
