BACKGROUND Application of hemostatic fleece (TachoSil) directly onto the bleeding surfaces of the lower uterine segment has been used to obtain hemostasis during cesarean section caused by placenta previa. METHODS Eleven of 15 patients treated with TachoSil for excessive postpartum haemorrhage due to placenta previa were enrolled. An evaluation of the cesarean section scar by transvaginal ult...

OBJECTIVES A growing number of studies suggest that the incomplete healing of the CS scar in the uterus increase the risk of uterine dehiscence or rupture during subsequent pregnancies. Thus, the factors that affect wound healing should be evaluated. We aimed to determine whether the morphology of the CS scar in non-pregnant women after one elective CS was affected by the site of the uterine in...
Endometriosis is defined by the presence and growth of ectopic functional endometrial tissue outside the uterus. Scar endometriosis has been described following obstetrical and gynecological surgery. It is a rare condition, though probably on the rise, due to the considerable increase of cesarean sections performed worldwide. Its physiopathology is complex; its symptomatology is rich and divers...
Introduction: Interstitial pregnancies are rare. There have been sporadic reports of postoperative uterine scar rupture; precise frequency is unknown. Herein, we report a case where rupture was observed during cesarean section after surgery for interstitial ectopic pregnancy.
The incidence of cesarean section (c-section) has increased worldwide. Because the major risk factor for uterine scar dehiscence (USD) is a previous c-section, the rate of this complication has also increased. Its clinical significance and management strategies are unclear. Here, we discuss USD particularly pertaining to its surgical treatment.
Placenta percreta retention within the scar of a previous cesarean section is rare. We report here one of these cases treated successfully by laparoscopy, with uterine repair. Different therapeutic options are described.
