ABSTRACT Primary Tuberculosis of wrist joint and carpal bone is rare, and when occurring it usually affects adults. We present a case of isolated tuberculosis of capitate bone; which was confirmed with intra-osseous tissue histopathological examination in a skeletally immature 12-year old boy. There was no signs of reactivation seen at follow-up 18 months after treatment.

BACKGROUND The carpal scaphoid is the most commonly fractured carpal bone in young adults after a fall on an outstretched arm that results in acute dorsal flexion of the wrist. However, stress fractures of the scaphoid are relatively rare. To the best of our knowledge, we describe the first case in the literature of carpal scaphoid stress fracture in a tennis player. CASE PRESENTATION An 18-y...
We have treated a total of 16 cases of advanced Kienböck's disease, stage III and IV by Lichtman's classification, with triscaphe fusion, tendon ball replacement arthroplasty after excision of lunate, proximal row carpectomy as a salvage procedure and limited wrist fusion, since 1985. All cases were followed for minimal 16 months after each operation. Tendon ball replacement arthroplasty after ...
