This report describes a case of a 40-year-old female patient with concurrent invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast and malignant follicular lymphoma, initially suspected to be metastatic breast cancer. During the initial evaluation of invasive ductal carcinoma of right breast, multiple lymphadenopathies were noted throughout the body on ultrasonography and positron emission tomography/compute...
Primary breast lymphoma (PBL) is a rare clinical entity. The clinical and imaging findings in breast lymphoma can mimic those of breast carcinoma. As a result, the diagnosis of PBL relies on histological evaluation and confirmed by immunohistochemical staining. The treatment of choice of this rare disease is controversial. This case report highlights the diagnosis and management of a 48-year-ol...
We report the case of a 38-year old woman affected by primary lymphoma of the right breast, with disease progression after chemotherapy and subsequent radiotherapy, successfully treated with a modified radical mastectomy. The literature of primary breast lymphomas has been reviewed and discussed in relation to our case. Our experience stresses the importance of a radical surgical approach in a ...
Primary lymphoma of the breast is a rare entity in the field of oncological medicine and represents <0.5% of all breast malignancies. A definitive diagnosis is obtained by excisional biopsy as the clinical and radiographical presentation is similar to the more common primary breast carcinoma. Unlike primary breast carcinoma, localized radiation therapy is the mainstay of treatment. We report on...
A 30-year-old HIV positive woman presented with a multifocal mass tumour associated with axillary and lateral-cervical lymphadenopathy in the right breast. Laboratory examination of the biopsy confirmed a case of mammary Burkitt's lymphoma with a nodular infiltration of the breast. Antiretroviral treatment and chemotherapy were effective to control the tumour. Although Burkitt's lymphoma rarely...
The breast is a rare localization of primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. We review our 15 years' experience in 11 patients with primary breast lymphoma. Based on our experience and on literature data we support a management scheme with CHOP or CHOP-like combination chemotherapy followed by involved field radiotherapy.
Background : Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of immune system malignancies, constituting about 30% of all cases of lymphomas. It is divided into four subgroups based on histopathologic findings. Recent reports indicate that SDF1 chemokine plays a major role in the development, survival and metastasis of many cancers, including breast, prostate and pancreas. So far, its expression and especially re...

BACKGROUND Primary non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) of the breast represents 0.04-0.5% of malignant lesions of the breast and accounts for 1.7-2.2% of extra-nodal NHL. Most primary cases are of B-cell phenotype and only rare cases are of T-cell phenotype. Anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) is a rare T-cell lymphoma typically seen in children and young adults with the breast being one of the least ...
We report the case of a 20-year-old female with lymphoma of the breast. Mammography showed an asymmetric pattern of confluent densities without any discrete mass. Sonography revealed diffuse heterogenous echoic mass intermingled with low-and medium level echoes. We present the clinical, radiographic and histologic features of primary breast lymphoma with a brief review of the literatures.
