A novel fat saturation scheme is proposed which combines spectral fat saturation with a steady-state 3D true Fast Imaging with Steady Precesson (TrueFISP) sequence. Fat saturation consisted of a conventional frequency-selective excitation pulse surrounded by spoiler gradients. This saturation block was periodically repeated within a continuously running TrueFISP sequence. Except for the fat sig...

this is an original study on the effect of a polyisobutylene – polydimethylsiloxane (pibpdms) block copolymer modifier used as an interfacial active agent on the dynamics behaviour of single newtonian drops suspended in a polyisobutylene (pib) newtonian matrix. the results were divided in two sections. the first part included the experiments carried out on the non-modified and 2% block cop...

In this article, a numerical method based on  improvement of block-pulse functions (IBPFs) is discussed for solving the system of linear Volterra and Fredholm integral equations. By using IBPFs and their operational matrix of integration, such systems can be reduced to a linear system of algebraic equations. An efficient error estimation and associated theorems for the proposed method are also ...

This article proposes a direct method for solving three types of integral equations with time delay. By using operational matrix of integration, integral equations can be reduced to a linear lower triangular system which can be directly solved by forward substitution. Numerical examples shows that the proposed scheme have a suitable degree of accuracy.

A 32-year-old man presented with palpitation. He was diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis by lung biopsy. The electrocardiogram showed first-degree atrioventricular block and complete right bundle branch block (CRBBB). We planned to examine laboratory data, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and gallium-67 scintigraphy. Before he went through all these exams, he developed ventricular tachycar...

Note describes two experiments made to explore basic properties of permanent magnet (PM) material and to obtain “first hand” experience. In the first experiment, magnetic moments of NdFeB permanent magnets (PM) were fine tuned. The magnetic moment spread among 17 PM magnets was reduced by a factor of 5 from 2.8% to 0.5%. The note describes setup used for magnetization and presents result. The s...

Properties of the hybrid of block-pulse functions and Lagrange polynomials based on the Legendre-Gauss-type points are investigated and utilized to define the composite interpolation operator as an extension of the well-known Legendre interpolation operator. The uniqueness and interpolating properties are discussed and the corresponding differentiation matrix is also introduced. The appl...

the matrix functions appear in several applications in engineering and sciences. the computation of these functions almost involved complicated theory. thus, improving the concept theoretically seems unavoidable to obtain some new relations and algorithms for evaluating these functions. the aim of this paper is proposing some new reciprocal for the function of block anti diagonal matrices. more...

A numerical method for solving nonlinear mixed Hammerstein integral equations is presented in this paper. The method is based upon hybrid of rationalized Haar functions approximations. The properties of hybrid functions which are the combinations of block-pulse functions and rationalized Haar functions are first presented. The Newton-Cotes nodes and Newton-Cotes integration method are then util...

Recently, the block-pulse functions (BPFs) are used in solving electromagnetic scattering problem, which are modeled as linear Fredholm integral equations (FIEs) of the second kind. But the theoretical aspect of this method has not fully investigated yet. In this article, in addition to presenting a new approach for solving FIE of the second kind, the theory of both methods is investigated as a...
