We derive some consequences of very recent results of Cordero and Nicola on the metaplectic representation, the Wiener amalgam spaces, (whose definition is due to Feichtinger), and their applications to the regularity of the solutions of Schrödinger equation with quadratic Weyl symbol. We do not however discuss the validity of Cordero and Nicola’s claims.
In reviewing U.S. dental amalgam waste management activities, one finds a wide variety of approaches, processes, and results, within which the authors have observed an inconsistency of definitions, measurements, standards, and even of clearly applied goals. As a result, outcomes have varied greatly from community to community. This manuscript attempts to deliver logical options which might prev...
Because of the interest in reducing the time and radiation required for screening sinuses with CT, we compared the quality of conventional coronal CT images with coronally reconstructed, axially acquired spiral CT images. The spiral reconstructions compared favorably with the conventional images and had significantly less motion and dental amalgam artifacts.
Wiener amalgams have been introduced by the author in 1980 ([F1,2]). The concept was aimed at the possibility of describing local and global properties of a function or distribution independently (allowing to speak of increasing smoothness at infinity . . . ). For a very readable survey of ‘ordinary’ amalgams, built up on local Land using global l-spaces, see the article by J. J. Fournier and J...
Aim: To review the release of mercury from the amalgam restorations and its effects on health. Objective: The main objective of the review is to analyse the various causes for the release of mercury and the amount of mercury released from restorative procedures and its intensity of toxicity that causes various significant hazards to the health of an individual. Background: Amalgam is one of the...
There is significant public concern about the potential health effects of exposure to mercury vapour (Hg(0)) released from dental amalgam restorations. The purpose of this article is to provide information about the toxicokinetics of Hg(0), evaluate the findings from the recent scientific and medical literature, and identify research gaps that when filled may definitively support or refute the ...

BACKGROUND The aetiology of multiple sclerosis (MS) remains poorly understood. Dental amalgams containing mercury have recently been suggested as a possible risk factor for MS. METHODS In a case-control study conducted between 1991 and 1994, we interviewed a total of 143 MS patients and 128 controls, to obtain information on socio-demographic characteristics and the number of dental amalgams ...
OBJECTIVE We sought to systematically review the literature related to oral lichenoid lesions (OLLs) and amalgam restorations. STUDY DESIGN Cohort and case-controlled studies (no randomized controlled trials or controlled clinical trials available) were reviewed with respect to inclusion criteria and data on patients with OLLs, treatment interventions, and the measurement of outcomes. RESUL...
