A comprehensive study was conducted using PPSMV resistant (BSMR 736) and susceptible (ICP 8863) genotypes to develop a segregating population and understand the inheritance of PPSMV resistance. The observed segregation was comparable to 13 (susceptible): 3 (resistant). Hence, the inheritance was controlled by two genes, SV1 and SV2, with inhibitory gene interaction.

We demonstrate a diamond Raman laser intracavity-pumped by a red semiconductor disk laser (~675 nm) for laser emission at around 740 nm. Output power up to 82 mW of the Stokes-shifted field was achieved, limited by the available pump power, with an output coupling of 1.5%. We also report wavelength tuning of the diamond Raman laser over 736 - 750 nm.

Through an organometallic approach, ultrathin SnO(x)Fe(y)S(z) plates with ~2 nm single layer-thicknesses were obtained and their graphene composites showed very promising discharge capacities of up to 736 mA h g(-1) and excellent stabilities as anode materials in lithium ion batteries.
