An analysis of the propogation of thermoelastic waves in a homogeneous, anisotropic, thermally conducting plate has been presented in the context of the generalized Lord-Shulman theory of thermoelasticity. Three different methods are used in this analysis: two of them are exact and the third is a semianalytic finite element method (SAFE). In our exact analysis, two different approaches are used...
Analysis for the propagation of elastic waves in arbitrary anisotropic plates is investigated, commencing with a formal analysis of waves in a layered plate of an arbitrary anisotropic media, the dispersion relations of elastic waves are obtained by invoking continuity at the interface and boundary of conditions on the surfaces of layered plate. The obtained solutions can be used for material s...
Abstract. Time-harmonic oscillations of a horizontal plate generate internal gravity waves in an unbounded stratified fluid. A plane-wave (Fourier) decomposition is used in which waves with outgoing group velocity are selected. The pressure and the velocity in the far field are estimated in terms of the Fourier transform of the pressure jump across the plate. Explicit solutions are obtained for...
In the present paper, the solution of a singular integral equation with logarithmic kernel in two disjoint intervals (0, a)4(b, ∞), (a, b are finite) is obtained by using function theoretic method. The two cases are considered when the unknown function satisfying the integral equation is unbounded or bounded at both nonzero finite end points of the interval. In the latter case, two solvability ...
The falling and settling of solid particles in gases and liquids is a natural phenomenon happens in many industrial processes. This phenomenon has altered pure forced convection to a combination of heat conduction and heat convection in a flow over a plate. In this paper, the coupling of conduction (inside the plate) and forced convection of a non-homogeneous nanofluid flow (over a flat plate) ...
Second-order nonlinear optical diffraction by standing acoustic waves in a crystalline plate is theoretically investigated. A detailed analysis of the polarization state of the second-harmonic light diffracted by both longitudinal and transversal acoustic waves is carried out. It is shown that longitudinal standing acoustic waves only allow p-polarized nonlinear optical diffraction, irrespectiv...
In this paper the possibility of the generation of the thermal waves in 2D electron gas is investigated. In the frame of the quantum heat transport theory the 2D quantum hyperbolic heat transfer equation is formulated and numerically solved. The obtained solutions are the thermal waves in electron 2D gases. As an example the thermal waves in quantum corrals are described.
We have experimentally detected a Peltier effect produced by the current flow 111 ohmic contacts upon integrated circuits. These contacts are small size heat sources which are very useful for investigating integrated circuits. We have characterised their thermal properties with a high resolution interferometric laser probe by measuring absolute thermal expansions. Subpicometric resolution has a...
Solar collector (Air heater) has low thermal efficiency due to the low thermal conductivity between Air and absorber plate. So there is a need to enhance the thermal conductivity between air and absorber plate. This leads higher temperature to absorber plate and hence maximum thermal losses occurs to environment .It can be made possible by creating artificial roughness on absorber plate .There ...
