This paper aims is to design an integrated navigation system constituted by low-cost inertial sensors to estimate the orientation of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) during all phases of under water and surface missions. The proposed approach relied on global positioning system, inertial measurement unit (accelerometer & rate gyro), magnetometer and complementary filter technique. Complem...

Understanding the dynamic behavior of switchable surfaces is of paramount importance for the development of controllable and tailor-made surface materials. Herein, electrically switchable mixed self-assembled monolayers based on oligopeptides have been investigated in order to elucidate their conformational mechanism and structural requirements for the regulation of biomolecular interactions be...

It is a challenge to simulate the switching process of functional self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on metal surfaces, since the systems consist of thousands of atoms and the switching is triggered by quantum-mechanical events. Herein a molecular dynamics simulation with a reactive rotation potential of N=N bond is implemented to investigate the dynamic conformational changes and packing effects...

By introducing Ag nanoclusters (NCs), ZnO-based resistive switching memory devices offer improved performance, including improved uniformity of switching parameters, and increased switching speed with excellent reliability. These Ag NCs are formed between the top-electrode (cathode) and the switching layer by an electromigration process in the initial several switching cycles. The electric fiel...

We demonstrate current self-complianced and self-rectifying bipolar resistive switching in an Ag-electroded Na-doped ZnO nanowire device. The resistive switching is controlled by the formation and rupture of an Ag nanoisland chain on the surface along the Na-doped ZnO nanowire. Na-doping plays important roles in both the self-compliance and self-rectifying properties.

A novel photoswitchable rotaxane was synthesised and its switching behaviour in solution was analysed with NMR and UV-Vis. A monolayer of rotaxanes was deposited on glass surfaces and the on-surface photoswitching was investigated. Angle-resolved NEXAFS spectra revealed a preferential orientation that reversibly changes upon switching.

Using our newly developed explicit three-body (E3B) water model, we simulate the surface of liquid water. We find that the timescale for hydrogen-bond switching dynamics at the surface is about three times slower than that in the bulk. In contrast, with this model rotational dynamics are slightly faster at the surface than in the bulk. We consider vibrational two-dimensional (2D) sum-frequency ...

label switching technology is a flexible and high performance method for forwarding layer three packets that are mapped to layer two flows. each label switch router, lsr, needs a specific label for every flow, where the number of labels depends on the mapping and granularity of flows. data and control driven methods are the most significant and popular methods in label mapping policy. the above...

Surface antigen switching in Giardia lamblia was analyzed using monoclonal antibodies specific for two variant-specific surface proteins (VSPs). Two VSPs were detected on the surface of single trophozoites. Dual expression persisted for 13 h but disappeared at 36 h, as in other parasites that undergo surface antigenic variation.
