This paper presents a method for overcoming time-varying co-channel interference (CCI) using type-2 fuzzy adaptive filters (FAF). The type-2 FAF is realized using an unnormalized type-2 Takagi–Sugeno–Kang fuzzy logic system. A clustering method is used to adaptively design the parameters of the FAF. We use transversal equalizer and decision feedback equalizer structures to eliminate the CCI. Si...

This paper proposes a Takagi-Sugeno neuro-fuzzy inference system for direct torque and stator reactive power control applied to a doubly fed induction motor. The control variables (d-axis and q-axis rotor voltages) are determined through a control system composed by a neuro-fuzzy inference system and a first order Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy logic controller. Experimental results are presented to valid...

In this study, the roll, yaw and depth fuzzy control of an Au- tonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) are addressed. Yaw and roll angles are regulated only using their errors and rates, but due to the complexity of depth dynamic channel, additional pitch rate quantity is used to improve the depth loop performance. The discussed AUV has four aps at the rear of the vehicle as actuators. Two rule bases...

This paper presents an adaptive fuzzy controller for a class of completely pure-feedback nonlinear systems. Takagi-Sugeno type fuzzy logic systems are used to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions. The controller synthesis is developed by the backstepping technique and the small gain approach. The closed-loop control system is proved to be semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded (SGUUB...

When controlling Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems, verification of some sector conditions is usually assumed. However, setpoint changes may alter the sector bounds. Alternatively, setpoint changes may be considered as an offset addition in many cases, and hence affine Takagi-Sugeno models may be better suited to this problem. This work discusses a nonconstant change of variable in order to carry out...

This paper proposes an adaptive TSK-type fuzzy network control (ATFNC) system for synchronization of a coupled nonlinear chaotic system. The design of the proposed ATFNC system is comprised of a neural controller and a fuzzy compensator. The neural controller uses a Takagi-Sugeno-Kang (TSK)-type fuzzy neural network (TFNN) to online mimic an ideal controller and the fuzzy compensator is designe...

Fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic are the convenient tools for handling uncertain, imprecise, or unmodeled data in intelligent decision-making systems. The utility of fuzzy logic in system controls domain is presented in the context of a mobile robot navigation control application. The Takagi-Sugeno controller is a fuzzy model capable of approximating a wide class of nonlinear systems by decompo...

In this paper, based on the off-axis circle criterion, a sufficient condition with a simple graphical explanation is derived to analyze the global asymptotic stability of a type of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy control systems in case of different constant reference inputs. Three numerical examples are given to demonstrate how to use the proposed method in analyzing the T-S fuzzy control systems.

Fermentation process is vital and important in many biotechnological applications. However modeling the fermentation process is considered a challenging and complex problem. The complexity of the problem is driven by the need of efficient, accurate, not expensive, and reliable predictive models. In this paper, we apply a Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Logic technique for modeling the lipase activity produ...

In general, i t is not easy to design a decentralized controller for nonlinear interconnected systems. In this study, the stability of nonlinear interconnected systems is studied via fuzzy decentralized control method. First, the nonlinear interconnected systems are represented by an equivalent Takagi-Sugeno type fuzzy model. If the state variables are unavailable, a fuzzy observer-based state ...
