PURPOSE Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) has a wide spectrum of symptoms and is therefore difficult to diagnose. CVT has been reported to be associated with various etiologies. There are, however, very few reported cases of CVT associated with iron deficiency anemia (IDA), especially in adults. CASE REPORT We reported the case of a female patient with seizure and hemorrhagic infarction due to...

CVT and XOR are two binary operations together used to calculate the sum of two non-negative integers on using a recursive mechanism. In this present study the convergence behaviors of this recursive mechanism has been captured through a tree like structure named as CVT-XOR Tree. We have analyzed how to identify the parent nodes, leaf nodes and internal nodes in the CVT-XOR Tree. We also provid...

Several infectious etiologies are related to cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), but a review of literature showed only few cases related to tuberculosis (TB), and only one with neurological manifestations. We report an unusual case of CVT related to TB and mutation in prothrombin gene. A 38-man black presented abrupt right hemiparestesis, and hemiparesis. Investigations revealed CVT. Cerebral sp...

Cortical venous thrombosis (CVT) without concomitant dural sinus thrombosis is an uncommon disorder. Isolated CVT usually manifests on imaging studies as focal parenchymal hemorrhage or edema. We report three cases of isolated CVT that presented with unilateral, localized subarachnoid hemorrhage without parenchymal involvement.

Cvt19 is specifically required for the transport of resident vacuolar hydrolases that utilize the cytoplasm-to-vacuole targeting (Cvt) pathway. Autophagy (Apg) and pexophagy, processes that use the majority of the same protein components as the Cvt pathway, do not require Cvt19. Cvt19GFP is localized to punctate structures on or near the vacuole surface. Cvt19 is a peripheral membrane protein t...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Isolated lateral sinus thrombosis was long considered a complication of middle ear disease. Little attention has been recently paid to this variety of thrombosis. We therefore reviewed all cases of isolated lateral sinus thrombosis prospectively collected in our center (1997 to 2006). METHODS Among 195 patients with cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), we identified 157 pa...

Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a long-term debilitating vascular brain disease with high morbidity and mortality. It may be associated with rise in D-dimer level. The aim of this study was to examine this potential association and identify the critical D-dimer cut-off level corresponding to increase the risk of CVT. This case-control study was conducted on two groups of patients with and w...

BACKGROUND Headache is the most frequent symptom in cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), and usually the first. However, it has rarely been reported as the only symptom of CVT. OBJECTIVES To study the characteristics of patients in whom headache was the only presentation of CVT in the absence of intracranial hypertension, subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH), meningitis, or other intracranial lesion. ...
