Abstract: The calculation of the magnetic moment of the deuteron in the framework of the Bethe–Salpeter approach is performed. The relativistic corrections are calculated analytically and estimated numerically. It is shown that the main contributions are due to partial waves with positive energies and P–waves. A comparison with the non-relativistic schemes of calculations including mesonic exch...

Hadronic π+π− atom is studied in the relativistic perturbative approach based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation. The general expression for the atom lifetime is derived. Lowest-order corrections to the relativistic Deser-type formula for the atom lifetime are evaluated within the Chiral Perturbation Theory. Using a simple thermo-hydrodynamic model that respects relativistic causality, we revisit the analysis of qualitative features of acoustic oscillations in the photon-baryon fluid. The growing photon mean free path introduces transient effects that can be modelled by the causal generalization of relativistic Navier-Stokes-Fourier theory. Causal thermodynamics provides a more satisfactory hydrody...

We consider the leading post-Newtonian and quantum corrections to the non-relativistic scattering amplitude of charged spin1 2 fermions in the combined theory of general relativity and QED. The coupled Dirac-Einstein system is treated as an effective field theory. This allows for a consistent quantization of the gravitational field. The appropriate vertex rules are extracted from the action, an...

The large relativistic corrections to the constituent quark current operators improve the predictions for the axial couplings of the baryons, but worsen those for their magnetic moments. The exchange current corrections that are associated with flavor and spin dependent hyperfine interactions between the quarks with a form suggested by pseudoscalar meson exchange can compensate the relativistic...

The decay widths of S-wave quarkonia (ηc, ηb → γγ and J/ψ,Υ → ee) are calculated on the basis of a quasipotential approach. The nontrivial dependence on relative quark motion of decay amplitude is taken into consideration via quarkonium wave function. It is shown that relativistic corrections may be large (10-50 %) and comparable with QCD corrections.

We discuss the description of a many-body nuclear system using Hamilto-nians that contain the nucleon relativistic kinetic energy and potentials with relativistic corrections. Through the Foldy-Wouthuysen transformation, the field theoretical problem of interacting nucleons and mesons is mapped to an equivalent one in terms of relativistic potentials, which are then expanded at some order in 1/...

In this paper we review the different relativistic and QED contributions to energies, ionic radii, transition probabilities and Landé g-factors in super-heavy elements, with the help of the MultiConfiguration Dirac-Fock method (MCDF). The effects of taking into account the Breit interaction to all orders by including it in the self-consistent field process are demonstrated. State of the art rad...

The fact that the round trip time for a light ray moving along a closed path (thanks to suitably placed mirrors) when its source is on a turntable varies with the angular speed ω of the platform may be thought classically as obvious. Furthermore that time, for a given ω, will be different if the beam is co-rotating or counter-rotating: longer in the former case, shorter in the latter. This diff...

Displacement measuring interferometry is based on measuring the Doppler frequency shift that a beam of radiation undergoes upon reflection off a mirror connected to a moving stage. Usually the velocity of the reflecting stage is very small compared to the speed of light and is therefore deduced using the classical expression for the Doppler shift. We calculate relativistic corrections to the Do...
