A genetic algorithm was used to evolve bat-like pinna shapes for a biomimetic sonarhead. Pinnae model consisted of small reeectors placed around the transducer. Experiments with ten reeectors showed the problem of phase cancellation in the received echoes. Analysis of phase cancellation suggests more realistic pinna models for future developments .
