Abstract Background Oral health status is directly associated with microbes present within it. The abundance of at the OSCC site more than its control site, representing possible role in progression development. Dysbiosis oral microbiota could be a crucial etiological risk factor elevation OSCC. This study aimed to analyze and assess: a) positive regulator cancer their b) pathways involved micr...
Lacking osseointegration and peri-implantitis induced by bacterial infiltration are the pivotal issues for long-term clinical success of implants. In order to improve bioactivity antibacterial properties implant materials, volcano-shaped microporous TiO2 coatings doped with Zinc (Zn) were fabricated via a micro-arc oxidation (MAO) method on pure titanium (Ti). The microstructure, morphology, ch...
Monoclonal antibodies characterized as antifimbria and anti-HA-Ag2 were used in immunoblotting to examine the antigenic distribution of fimbriae and HA-Ag2 among a collection of human and animal Porphyromonas strains and human Prevotella and Bacteroides strains. The results showed that fimbrial and HA-Ag2 antigenic structures are peculiar to the species Porphyromonas gingivalis.
Porphyromonas gingivalis is a Gram-negative, anaerobic bacterium considered to be an important pathogen of periodontal disease that is also implicated in adverse pregnancy outcome (APO). Until recently, our understanding of the role of P. gingivalis in APO has been limited and sometimes contradictory. The purpose of this review is to provide an overview of past and current research on P. gingiv...
OBJECTIVE The present study was designed to evaluate the occurrence of periodontal pathogens in the subgingival biofilm of 100 native Brazilians living at the Umutina Indian Reservation, Mato Grosso State, Brazil. METHODS Periodontal clinical examinations were carried out prior to collection of subgingival biofilm, and the presence of 14 periodontal microorganisms was evaluated by polymerase ...
Porphyromonas gingivalis is a major pathogen of chronic periodontitis and exists in a biofilm on the surface of the tooth root. Oxantel, a cholinergic anthelmintic and fumarate reductase inhibitor, significantly inhibited biofilm formation by P. gingivalis and disrupted established biofilms at concentrations below its MIC against planktonic cells. Oxantel was more effective against P. gingivali...
Background Porphyromonas gingivalis fimbriae are classified into six genotypes (types I-V and Ib). Among them, occurrence of fimA type II genotype is more predominant in periodontitis patients. Similarly collagenase encoded by prtC gene is a potential virulence factor expressed by P. gingivalis strains associated with periodontal disease. The study was opted to detect the presence of P. gingiva...
results of 351 patients, 76 patients (group 1) had a strong positive result for salivary occult blood test and 275 patients (group 2) had weak positive or negative test results. significant factors between the groups were obesity, level of ast, alt, ldh, alp, alb, d.bil, t.cho, afp, platelets (plt), iri, homa-ir, current interferon (ifn) treatment and the daily frequency of tooth brushing. betw...
The association between Gram negative enteric rods and Porphyromonas gingivalis in periodontal diseases has received little attention in the literature. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the associations between Gram negative enteric rods, Porphyromonas gingivalis and clinical parameters of periodontal disease. The prevalence of Gram-negative enteric rods and P. gingivalis were exa...
