haplothrips zabolius sp. n. is described from two plant species, cynodon dactylon (poaceae) and plantago lanceolata (plantaginaceae) from the southeast of iran. the new species is apparently close to some grass-living haplothrips species: h. aculeatus (fabricius), h. eragrostidis priesner and h. hukkineni priesner. most specimens of the new species have only one sense cone on the antennal segme...
& spach (poaceae) ایران به شرح زیر گزارش می شوند: e. bonaepartis var. bonaepartis spreng. nevski (2n=14 & 28), e. bonaepartis var. sublanuginosum (drobow) á. löve (2n=28), e. confusum var. confusum melderis (2n=28), e. confusum var. glabrum melderis (2n=14), e. distans k. koch (nevski) (2n =14) and e. orientale jaub. & spac...
Densoviruses (DVs) infect arthropods and belong to the Parvoviridae family. Here, we report the complete coding sequence of a novel DV isolated from the plant Hordeum marinum (Poaceae) by viral metagenomics, and we confirmed reamplification by PCR. Phylogenetic analyses showed that this novel DV is related to the genus Iteradensovirus.
Although the c. 10,000 species in the Poaceae places it as the fifth largest flowering plant family, a number of biological features raise it to a unique position. The family has contributed crop species that provide about 80% of the annual global food (FAOSTAT 1999). In fact, four of the top crops that feed the world are cereal crops: wheat, rice, corn, and barley. This economic significance i...
The relationship between the meteorological elements, especially the thermal conditions and the Poaceae pollen appearance in the air, were analysed as a basis to construct a useful model predicting the grass season start. Poaceae pollen concentrations were monitored in 1991-2012 in Kraków using the volumetric method. Cumulative temperature and effective cumulative temperature significantly infl...
Poaceae represent the most important group of crops susceptible to abiotic stress. This large family of monocotyledonous plants, commonly known as grasses, counts several important cultivated species, namely wheat (Triticum aestivum), rice (Oryza sativa), maize (Zea mays), and barley (Hordeum vulgare). These crops, notably, show different behaviors under abiotic stress conditions: wheat and ric...
Introduction Members of the Poaceae family have been rewarding subjects of research in the field of functional-structural plant modelling (FSPM) (Fournier et al., 2007). Poaceae comprise important cereal crop species such as rice, wheat, and maize, and the plants usually exhibit a regular and co-ordinated development making them particularly suitable for FSPM. The models that have been reported...
We sampled and analyzed 43 Poaceae plants from the Pacific Ocean island of Tonga for the presence of circular DNA viruses. From these samples, we recovered three gemycircularvirus genomes, which share >99% identity, from Brachiaria deflexa (n = 2) and sugarcane (n = 1). These genomes share <61% genome-wide identity with other gemycircularvirus sequences in public databases.
