Introduction: According to marked advances in bioinformatics studies, development of influenza vaccines has been greatly modified in many studies. In this study, we have designed a multi-epitope recombinant protein, consisting of several conserved epitopes from Hemagglutinin protein of the H1N1 and H5N1 strains of Influenza virus by immunoinformatics approaches. Materials and Methods: The regis...

Background and Objective: Adamantanes, amantadine, and rimantadine have been used for many years for prevention and treatment of influenza virus A infections. These drugs are influenza virus M2 protein inhibitors and some amino acids substitutions in transmembrane portion of this protein cause resistance to them. This study was done for survey of adamantane resistance related nucleotide sequenc...

background: pandemic flu had at least two waves in iran. knowing how many of the general population were already exposed to this infection has a major impact on na-tional preventive measures. as of december 30, 2009, a total of 3672 confirmed cases of human infection with a novel influenza a (2009 h1n1) virus had been reported in iran with 140 deaths. objective: in this study we aim to measure,...

Novel influenza A (H1N1) virus infection continues to cause illness and death among persons worldwide. Immunosuppressed patients with influenza virus infection can shed virus for prolonged periods, increasing the chances for development of drug resistance. On August 6, 2009, CDC detected evidence of resistance to the antiviral medication oseltamivir in two severely immunosuppressed patients wit...

In this study, the full-genome sequence of a novel reassortant H1N1 swine influenza virus (SIV) is reported. The isolate has a hemagglutinin (HA) gene of the pandemic H1N1 influenza virus, but it carries the seven genome segments of the avian-origin H1N1 SIV currently circulating in European pig farms.

background and aims: influenza a viruses are important pathogens for humans especially in pandemic episodes. two adamantane derivates, amantadine and rimantadine, are used for prophylaxis and treatment of influenza a virus infections. however, single amino acid substitutions in the m2 transmembrane domain which lead to amantadine resistance of these viruses occur at residues 26, 27, 30, 31 or 3...

Cell-mediated immunity to influenza A/USSR (H1N1) virus was assessed by measuring transformation response and interferon production by Ficoll-Hypaque-purified peripheral blood lymphocytes from children and adults. Lymphocyte transformation was found to be related to the individual's previous experience with H1N1 influenza virus. Lymphocyte cultures, obtained from adults who had their last conta...

A novel swine-origin H1N1 influenza A virus has been identified as the cause of the 2009 influenza pandemic in humans. Since then, infections with the pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza virus have been documented in a number of animal species. The first known cases of lethal respiratory disease associated with pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza virus infection in house pets occurred in domestic cats in...
