where a and b denote the roots of the radicand. Before preparing his own method of computation, Mr. Kemble criticizes two procedures -used by other authors and rejects them as inadequate and even as errone, ous. This judgment cannot remain uncontradicted for in reality these procedures are both perfectly correct and very efficient. Since the integral under consideration was first introduced into...

MacIntyre is inherently anti-capitalist. He believes that moral people ought to reject the modern state and large-scale corporations. 1 He also rejects what he terms the enlightenment project, claiming not only that it failed but tha...

In 1903 G.E. Moore celebrated a robust nonnaturalistic form of moral realism with the publication of his Principia Ethica. Subsequent years have witnessed the development and refinement of a number of views motivated at least in part by a deep resistance to the metaphysical and epistemological commitments of nonnaturalism. In Study 1, people more often chose healthy over unhealthy food options when they recalled a completed egoistic action than when they recalled a completed altruistic action. Study 2 confi...

This chapter presents a brief introduction to the developmental and educational literature linking children's moral emotions to cognitive moral development. A central premise of the chapter is that an integrative developmental perspective on moral emotions and moral cognition provides an important conceptual framework for understanding children's emerging morality and designing developmentally ...

We have expressed recombinant RNase P protein from Escherichia coli in high yield. A hexahistidine sequence at the amino terminus allowed protein purification in a single step. Mass spectrometry confirmed the molecular weight of the purified protein and indicated a purity of > 95%. Protein functionality was demonstrated by reconstitution of active holoenzyme.
