Introduction: Fruit polysaccharides, essential health factors in foods, are widely present in edible fruits. Several methods for isolation of polysaccharide are available. Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) method is extensively used for separation of polysaccharides. Only little information is available about Psidium guajava L. Fruit Polysaccharide (PFP) and its extraction methods. Objective:...

In this paper, a novel solar solid dehumidification/regeneration bed has been proposed, and its three regeneration methods, i.e., simulated solar radiation regeneration, microwave regeneration, and combined regeneration of the microwave and simulated solar radiation, were experimentally investigated and compared, as well as the dehumidification performance. The degree of regeneration of the pro...

We report an intrinsic image distortion in microwave-induced thermoacoustic tomography. The distortion, due to microwave diffraction in the object to be imaged, leads to nonuniform excitation of acoustic pressure during microwave illumination. Both numerical simulations and phantom experiments demonstrate this phenomenon. A method of partial correction is also provided.

The spectral-domain method is a very fast and powerful technique to analyze planar microwave circuits. However, available techniques for simulating the excitation of open planar microwave circuits are not very effective at relatively low frequencies. In this paper, new compensation functions are introduced, which correctly model the excitation over the whole microwave frequency region.

This review presents a summary of reactions performed using microwave irradiation. This green processes have resulted through use of less or no catalyst, readily recyclable solvents and yield that are often higher than conventional method. It also focus on the principle of microwave activation, various types of Microwave Reactor and its characteristics.

Microwave drying technology has the potential for large production time and energy cost savings versus traditional vacuum drying methods for active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) applications. One of the most critical parameters in the drying process is the determination of the end point, usually at a specified moisture content. On-line mass spectrometry (MS) was used as a tool to monitor micr...

Due to inherent nature of standing wave patterns of microwaves inside a cavity and dielectric properties of different components in a food, microwave heating leaves non-uniform distribution of energy inside the food volumetrically. Achieving heating uniformity plays critical role in improving the safety of microwave heated products. In this paper, we present a method for assessing heating unifo...

UNLABELLED BACKGROUND Microwave irradiation as an alternative heat source is now a well-known method in synthetic chemistry. Microwave heating has emerged as a powerful technique to promote a variety of chemical reactions, offering reduced pollution, low cost and offer high yields together with simplicity in processing and handling. On the other hand, copolymers containing both hydrophilic a...
