We model the problem of monolingual textual alignment as a Quadratic Assignment Problem (QAP) which simultaneously maximizes the global lexicosemantic and syntactic similarities of two sentence-level texts. Because QAP is an NP-complete problem, we propose a branch-and-bound approach to efficiently find an optimal solution. When compared with other methods and studies, our results are competitive.

The quadratic assignment problem (QAP) was first proposed by Koopmans and Beckman [5] in the context of the plant location problem. Given n facilities, represented by the set F f1 fn , and n locations represented by the set L l1 ln , one must determine to which location each facility must be assigned. Let An n ai j be a matrix where ai j represents the flow between facilities fi and f j. Let Bn...

[Purpose] This study aimed to examine the prevalence of locomotive syndrome among patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) using the "loco-check" recently developed by the Japanese Orthopedic Association, and to compare health-related quality of life (HRQOL) among patients with and without locomotive syndrome. [Subjects and Methods] This cross-sectional study evaluated 1,195 outpat...

Locomotive syndrome is a condition of reduced mobility due to impairment of locomotive organs. Since upright bipedal walking involves minutely controlled movement patterns, impairment of any aspect of the locomotive organs has the potential to adversely affect it. In addition to trauma, chronic diseases of the locomotive organs, which progress with repeated bouts of acute exacerbations, are com...

BACKGROUND The Japanese Orthopedic Association first proposed the concept of "locomotive syndrome" in 2007. It refers to circumstances in which elderly people need nursing care services or are at high risk of requiring such services within a short time. Recently, the public health burden of providing nursing care for elderly individuals has increased. Therefore, locomotive syndrome, and the mea...

Aimed at the safety problem of the locomotive under the dynamic braking condition, analysis the influence of the coupler and buffer system. The coupler reposition methods of the large rotation angle coupler and the small rotation angle coupler under longitudinal coupler press force was compared. The influence of coupler and buffer system to the dynamics performance of locomotive was researched ...

in this paper we present the problem of designing a three level hub center network. in our network, the top level consists of a complete network where a direct link is between all central hubs.  the second and third levels consist of star networks that connect the hubs to central hubs and the demand nodes to hubs and thus to central hubs, respectively. we model this problem in an incomplete net...
