Radiative relaxations of electronic excitations - self-trapped excitons (STE) in regular lattice sites (intrinsic luminescence) and exciton-like formations (ELF) the field homologous cations (exciton-like luminescence). It has been found that maximum effect luminescence enhancement occurs upon uniaxial deformation along <110> crystallographic direction (compared to <100>), which coi...
In this paper, FTIR spectroscopy using attenuated total reflection (ATR) and KBr pressed disk techniques has been used to characterize sorbed water and HDTMA+ in organo-clay. Sorbed water content decreases with the intercalation of HDTMA+. With the decrease of the sorbed water content, the position of the nu2 mode shifts to higher frequency dramatically while the stretching vibration shifts to ...
The adsorption on KBr(001) of a specially designed molecule, consisting of a flat aromatic triphenylene core equipped with six flexible propyl chains ending with polar cyano groups, is investigated by using atomic force microscopy in the noncontact mode (NC-AFM) coupled to Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) in ultrahigh vacuum at room temperature. Two types of monolayers are identified, one i...
A novel, rapid, simple and sensitive dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method based on the solidification of floating organic drop (DLLME-SFO) combined with high performance liquid chromatography-ultra violet detection (HPLC-UV) was used to determine acrylamide in potato chips. The derivation of the acrylamide happened in the presence of KBr, KBrO3, H2SO4. Based on studies, 1-undecanol w...
The optical constants of thin films of CsI, KI, and KBr and the quantum efficiency (QE) of planar photocathodes made with these alkali halides in the 53.6-174.4-nm spectral range are presented. The optical constants were obtained from measurements of the reflectance as a function of incidence angle. The effect of film heating and exposure to UV irradiation on the optical properties and on the Q...
The dependence of quantum efficiency of alkali halide photocathodes on the radiation incidence angle
We studied variation of quantum efficiencies of CsI, KBr and KI-evaporated reflective planar photocathodes with the angle of radiation incidence (±55 degrees) in the spectral range of 25-115 nm. The photocurrent increases with the photon incidence angle for short wavelengths (by as much as ~60% at 55 for 25-30 nm illumination), while it changes only ~5% at wavelengths ~90-115 nm. The theoretica...
