A novel tool for the study of IP over WDM networks is presented. The tool is a network level simulator named GANCLES that includes several innovative features allowing the study of realistic scenarios in IP over WDM networks, making it an ideal tool for traffic engineering purposes. GANCLES architecture enables the simulation of dynamic traffic grooming on top of a realistic network model that ...

Models of dynamical systems based on predictive state representations (PSRs) use predictions of future observations as their representation of state. A main departure from traditional models such as partially observable Markov decision processes (POMDPs) is that the PSR-model state is composed entirely of observable quantities. PSRs have recently been extended to a class of models called memory...

The indigenous peoples (IP) of the Philippines face great disadvantage in terms of social and health services, particularly in reproductive health (RH). The Higaonon community of Bukidnon and Ata-Manobo of Davao reflect this disparity. A participatory action research guided by grounded theory, postmodern and feminist frameworks validated that there is lack of awareness and understanding of RH c...

While the traffic matrix is used as basic data for many network planning tasks, it must be recognized that its inference in IP networks is particularly difficult and error prone. This paper discusses the issue of defining representative traffic demands and surveys proposed techniques for directly measuring elements of the traffic matrix or inferring their value from link measurements.

This paper presents a description of the environments of individualized learning (Based on the Intelligent Tutoring Systems, ITS), the Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL), Multi-Agent Systems (MAS) and the artificial intelligence techniques called: Instructional Planning (IP) and Case-Based Reasoning (CBR). Finally ALLEGRO is presented, a MAS environment of support to the teaching/...
