We examined the effects of simulation training on performance of clean intermittent self-catheterization procedures with 2 young girls. Simulation training was conducted, after which independent performance was assessed within a multiple baseline design. The training resulted in increased accuracy and decreased latency for both girls.

Introduction: A growing number of Muslim athletes now engage in international competition. This raises the question of the advice they should be given if a major event occurs during the month of Ramadan. BACKGROUND The use of physical training in the treatment of intermittent claudication is well established. However, current data do not provide enough information about the prognosis for each case, and there are no data on how walking distances evolve over time with conservative treatment. The goal of this study was to evaluate improvement in walking capacity among patients with intermittent cl...

Over the past two decades, intermittent hypoxic training (IHT), that is, a method where athletes live at or near sea level but train under hypoxic conditions, has gained unprecedented popularity. By adding the stress of hypoxia during 'aerobic' or 'anaerobic' interval training, it is believed that IHT would potentiate greater performance improvements compared to similar training at sea level. A...

Repeated sprint ability (RSA) is a critical success factor for intermittent sport performance. Repeated sprint training has been shown to improve RSA, we hypothesised that hypoxia would augment these training adaptations. Thirty male well-trained academy rugby union and rugby league players (18.4 ± 1.5 years, 1.83 ± 0.07 m, 88.1 ± 8.9 kg) participated in this single-blind repeated sprint traini...

Background: High intensity interval training (HIIT) is a kind of exercise training that suggested for individuals with any sufficient time for regular training.  The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a period of intense intermittent training on the expression of 3 enolase, 3 caveolin genes and plasma levels of SGOT enzyme in the cardiac tissue of male rats with fatty liver (steato...
