The absorption and scattering efficiencies of light by a single magnetoplasmonic nanoparticle, based on magnetite gold, embedded in human tissue are analyzed theoretically the framework Finite-Difference-Time-Domain method Lorenz-Mie theory. We consider separately three different architectures for nanoparticle: rectangular three-layer gold/magnetite/gold nanobar, circular nanoring magnetite/gol...

Herein, we report a facile two-step approach to produce gold-incorporated copper (Cu/Au) nanostructures through controlled disproportionation of the Cu(+)-oleylamine complex at 220 °C to form copper nanowires and the subsequent reaction with Au(3+) at different temperatures of 140, 220 and 300 °C. In comparison with copper nanowires, these bimetallic Cu/Au nanostructures exhibit their synergist...

Novel surface coordination nanostructures based on cyanosexiphenyl molecules are assembled on a gold surface and investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy and density functional theory. Their formation can be tuned by varying the surface temperature during deposition. Diffusing gold adatoms act as coordination centers for the cyano groups present on one end of the nonsymmetrical molecules.

Gold based structures such as nanoparticles (NPs) and nanowires (NWs) have widely been used as building blocks for sensing devices in chemistry and biochemistry fields because of their unusual optical, electrical and mechanical properties. This article gives a detailed review of the new properties and fabrication methods for gold nanostructures, especially gold nanowires (GNWs), and recent deve...
