The ee → eeπ + X and ee → eeKS + X reactions are studied at LEP using data collected with the L3 detector at √ s = 189−202 GeV. Preliminary results for the differential cross section dσ/dpT in the transverse momentum range 0.2 GeV < pT < 7.5 GeV at central values of pseudo-rapidity, |η| < 0.5 or |η| < 1.5, and the differential cross section dσ/d|η| for different values of pT are presented. For ...

PHENIX has measured transverse momentum spectra of charged particles at mid-rapidity up to 10 GeV/c in Au+Au collisions at √ s nn = 200 GeV. For central collisions, the yield at high p T is significantly suppressed comparing to binary scaled p+p data, and this suppression is stronger than observed at 130 GeV [1,2]. Above 4 GeV/c, the deficit of high momentum particles is almost independent of p...

Exclusive ρ • photoproduction has been measured with high statistics by the H1 Collaboration. The kinematical range is 20 < W < 90 GeV, |t| < 3 GeV 2 and Q 2 < 4 GeV 2. Cross sections are measured differentially in W and t and allow the extraction of the Pomeron trajectory, for the first time using ρ • photoproduction data of one single experiment. The preliminary result, α P (t) = 1.093 ± 0.00...

We use a hydrodynamical model to describe the evolution of the collision system at collision energies √ s = 130 and 200 GeV. At lower √ s = 130 GeV energy we compare the results obtained assuming fast or slow thermalization (thermalization times τ0 = 0.6 and 4.1 fm/c, respectively) and show that slow thermalization fails to reproduce the observed anisotropy of particle distribution. At √ s = 20...

Using 20.7 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) annihilation data taken at sq.rt(r) = 3.671 GeV with the CLEO-c detector, precision measurements of the electromagnetic form factors of the charged pion, charged kaon, and proton have been made for timelike momentum transfer of |Q(2)| = 13.48 GeV(2) by the reaction e(+)e(-) --> h(+)h(-). The measurements are the first ever with identified pions and kaons of |Q(2)| ...

We report new results on v2(pT ) for Au+Au collisions at √ sNN=200 GeV for charged hadrons, pions, kaons, (anti)protons, K s , and Λ. The analysis is extended to pT = 12 GeV/c for charged hadrons and pT = 4 GeV/c for identified particles. A comparison of the azimuthal anisotropy of charged hadrons measured at √ sNN=130 and 200 GeV is presented. The pT -dependence of baryon versus meson elliptic...

Deeply virtual Compton scattering has recently been studied by three HERA experiments, H1, ZEUS and HERMES, covering a broad range of kinematic regimes. We present cross section measurements of the two collider experiments in the kinematic region 2<Q<100 GeV and 30<W<140 GeV, and compare them to QCDbased calculations. HERMES measurements of azimuthal asymmetries and their kinematical dependence...

Spin Density Matrix Elements (SDMEs) describing the angular distribution of exclusive ρ electroproduction and decay are determined in the HERMES experiment with 27.6 GeV beam energy and unpolarized hydrogen and deuterium targets. Eight (fifteen) SDMEs that are related (unrelated) to the longitudinal polarization of the beam are extracted in the kinematic region 1 GeV < Q < 7 GeV, 3.0 GeV < W < ...

We investigate the production of e+e− pairs from p + Be and nucleus-nucleus collisions from 2 GeV/A to 200 GeV/A within a covariant transport approach and focus on the dilepton angular anisotropies as a function of the dilepton invariant mass. Whereas the low mass regime yields information about the Dalitz decays of the ∆, η and ω, above M ≈0.5 GeV the angular anisotropies provide additional in...

We describe methods used to measure and control tunes in the Fermilab Main Injector (FMI). Emphasis is given to software implementation of the operator interface, to the front-end embedded computer system, and handling of hysteresis of main dipole and quadrupole magnets. Techniques are developed to permit control of tune of the Main Injector through several acceleration cycles: from 8.9 GeV/c t...
