AJADI ADETOLA ABIDEMI,

The effects of Tahitian noni juice (TNJ), vitamin C and vitamin E on male reproductive functions in cyclophosphamide-treated wistar rats were compared. Thirty five male wistar rats with mean body weight of 180 ± 24.3 g were randomly divided into five groups. Group one were treated with cyclophosphamide (50 mg/kg, i.p.) while, group two were treated with TNJ (10 ml/kg, i.p.) and cyclophosphamide...

We address the problem of state observation for a system whose dynamics may involve poorly known, perhaps even nonlocally Lipschitz functions and whose output measurement may be corrupted by noise. It is known that one way to cope with all these uncertainties and noise is to use a high-gain observer with a gain adapted on-line. As a difference from most previous results, we study such a solutio...

Dynamic performance stubs provide a framework for the simulation of the performance behavior of software modules and functions. They can be used to realize a cost-benefit analysis of the gain from performance optimization and therefore, for a gain oriented improvement. It is also possible to identify “hidden” bottlenecks and the most relevant optimization candidates. This paper classifies sever...

We consider the use of a fixed gain version of SPSA (simultaneous perturbation stochastic approximation) for optimizing a class of discrete functions. The procedure has been modified to obtain an optimization method that is applicable to cost functions defined on a grid of points in Euclidean p-space having integer components. We discuss some related results on fixed gain SPSA and describe an a...

We report gain calculations for a quantum cascade laser using a fully self-consistent quantum mechanical approach based on the theory of nonequilibrium Green functions. Both the absolute value of the gain as well as the spectral position at threshold are in excellent agreement with experimental findings for T = 77K. The gain strongly decreases with temperature.

In this paper, a gain-adapted speech recognition in unknown noise is developed in time domain. The noise is assumed to be the colored noise. The nonstationary autoregressive (NAR) hidden markov model (HMM) used to model clean speeches, The nonstationary AR is modeled by polynomial functions with a linear combination of A4 known basis functions. Enhancement using multiple Kalman filters is perfo...
