Recent reports have shown that GTP-binding proteins (G-proteins) are present in plants but have given limited indication as to their site of action. G-proteins in animal cells transduce extracellular signals into intracellular or membrane-mediated events, including the regulation of ion channels. Using whole-cell patch clamp, we provide evidence that a G-protein in guard cells of fava bean regu...

The interaction of four lectins from crops of the legume family with Saccharomyces cerevisiae alpha-mannan, and also with two glycoenzymes containing mainly alpha-mannan moieties, has been studied. The interaction was characterized by a quantitative precipitation assay. The results of precipitation differ with respect to both quality (the point of maximum precipitation) and of the quantity (the...

A 8 month-old infant presented with acute onset of severe jaundice, anemia requiring transfusion and Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase deficiency. The infant did not take drugs, he did not consume fava beans, but fava beans DNA was found on pumpkin he consumed the day before jaundice onset. This is the first case of hemolysis triggered by ingestion of food cross-contaminated with fava beans.

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is the most common hereditary enzyme defect in humans, caused by a mutation X-linked gene encoding G6PD. The G6PD plays an important role to produced reducing agents which maintain reduced glutathione through pentose phosphate pathway. On ingestion of Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.), vicine and convicine are hydrolyzed β -glucosidase divicine isoura...

The traditional methods used to identify plant diseases mostly rely on expert opinion, which causes long waits and enormous expenses in the control of crop field activities, especially given that majority infections now existence have tiny targets, occlusions, looks are similar those other diseases. To increase efficiency precision rust disease classification a fava bean field, new optimized mu...

Fava bean (Vicia faba L.) is a promising source of proteins and has potential in industrial food applications. Processing fava ingredients modifies their functional properties. This study established the complexity relationship between protein-associated reactions (protein hydrolysis aggregation), physico-chemical properties (electric charge, solubility, intrinsic fluorescence, thermal integrit...

Parkinson is a slowly progressive brain disease of neurodegenerative nature. It manifested by lack dopamine in the brain. This neurological usually seen over age 60. has major symptoms such as resting tremor, bradykinesia, rigidity and posterior reflex disorder. In studies conducted, cause neural degeneration not fully explained, but it agreed that hereditary predisposition, environmental toxin...
