Computed tomograms of 107 patients of head trauma in the paediatric age group were evaluated. Generalised brain swelling (44%) and falx sign (44%) were the commonest findings observed in the computed tomograms. The overall mortality was 16.8% of which all except one were those with Glasgow coma scale between 3 and 7.

We describe a granular cell tumour developing in clear cell meningioma of the falx. Granular and clear cells showed immunoreactivity for vimentin, epithelial membrane antigen and progesterone receptors. This is the first case documenting arachnoid origin of neoplastic granular cells in meningioma.

Two cases of interhemispheric subdural haematoma are reported. The first patient presented with a falx syndrome of contralateral hemiparesis, most marked in the lower extremity. The second patient had vertex headaches and was diagnosed with computerised tomography. Serial studies suggested that the interhemispheric haematoma may have migrated to a lateral position over the cerebral convexity.

The falcine sinus is a normal anatomic structure located in the falx cerebri that closes after birth and is rarely observed in the adult population. We describe a unique case of persistent falcine sinus in an adult who presented with venous sinus obstruction.
