This paper aimed at estimation of the per capita consumption of electricity in residential sector based on economic indicators in Iran. The Genetic Algorithm Electricity Demand Model (GAEDM) was developed based on the past data using the genetic algorithm approach (GAA). The economic indicators used during the model development include: gross domestic product (GDP) in terms of per capita and ...

Electricity cannot be stored and needs huge amount of capital so producers and consumers pay special attention to predict electricity consumption. Besides, time-series data of the electricity market are chaotic and complicated. Nonlinear methods such as Neural Networks have shown better performance for predicting such kind of data. We also need to analyze other variables affecting electricity c...

accurate and effective electricity price forecasting is critical to market participants in order to make an appropriate risk management in competitive electricity markets. market participants rely on price forecasts to decide on their bidding strategies, allocate assets and plan facility investments. however, due to its time variant behavior and non-linear and non-stationary nature, electricity...

Electricity consumption has been rising with an average annual growth of 7% in Iran and the imbalance in production and consumption has caused power outage crisis and economic losses. More than 50% of peak electricity demand is related to the household sector, so the household sector can be considered as the most effective component of the electricity crisis. Investment costs for the constructi...

one of the effective methods for improving the efficiency of an organization is benchmarking against successful organizations. not only benchmarking could be a technique for identifying problems but also it greatly helps managers in relations of the design of processes. among strategic and infrastructure industries in each country, the electricity industry is one of the most important and criti...

abstract: implementing a combined cooling, heating and power system(cchp) to cool, heat and produce electricity is growing rapidly due to its efficiency and low emissions. in this paper, using economic analysis, the size and operation detail of the required gas engine and the specific electricity, cooling and heating load curves for a one year operating period has been determined. the proposed ...

Estimating electricity demand elasticity in different sectors has been an essential research topic. Considering the fact that pricing electricity in various countries does not follow the same rules, many econometrics methods have been developed to estimate this crucial parameter. Electricity demand elasticity is defined as the percent change in electricity consumption in response to one percent...

Electricity production via solar energy is tackled via short-term forecasts and risk management. Our main tool is a new setting on time series. It allows the definition of “confidence bands” where the Gaussian assumption, which is not satisfied by our concrete data, may be abandoned. Those bands are quite convenient and easily implementable. Numerous computer simulations are presented.

Brain energy metabolism powers information processing and behavior, much as electricity powers a computer. However, a recent study in insects suggests that this relationship is more interesting, causally linking aggressive behavior to energetics. These findings may also shed new light on aerobic glycolysis, a long-standing riddle of human brain physiology.
