The use of cheaper and recyclable biomaterials (like eggshells) to synthesize high purity hydroxyapatite (HAp) with better properties (small particle size, large surface area and pore volume) for applications (in environmental remediation, bone augmentation and replacement, and drug delivery systems) is vital since high-purity synthetic calcium sources are expensive. In this work, pure and meso...
Several years ago, paleontologist Shaena Montanari was doing field work in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert when she noticed fragments of dinosaur eggshells in the sand. She knew them by distinctive lines and bumps on their surfaces. Montanari, then a graduate student at the American Museum of Natural History, and now a Royal Society fellow at the University of Edinburgh, realized she could use the fragm...
We analyzed the prevalence of thermotolerant Campylobacter spp. compared that of to Salmonella spp. in raw yolk and on eggshells. A total of 2,710 eggs were investigated for each bacterium. Viable bacteria were found in 4.1% (Campylobacter spp.) and 1.1% (Salmonella spp.) of the eggshell samples, whereas the egg yolk samples were negative for both bacteria.
background and objective : salmonellosis can be acquired through consumption of infected raw or undercooked eggs. the aim of this study was isolation and identification of salmonella spp from the eggshells and the egg contents samples of tabriz retails. methods : a total number of 150 samples of eggs were analyzed for the presence of salmonella spp. using conventional culture method and multipl...
Background: The chick embryo is a classical model to study embryonic development. However, most researchers have not studied the effect of embryonic manipulation on chick hatchability. To determine the effect of egg orientation and type of sealing film on the hatchability of cultured embryos, and to determine the fate of adulte stem cells injected into the blastoderm. Materials and Methods: Win...
An experimental study was conducted with low cost natural waste adsorbent materials, barley husks and eggshells, for the removal of Levofloxacine (LEVX) antibacterial from synthetic water. Batch sorption tests were to their isothermal adsorption capacity compared conventional activated carbon which were, > eggshells efficiencies 74, 71 42 % adsorbents doses 5, 5 50 g/L carbon, husks, respect...
Abstract Abundant agricultural waste could be used to improve plant growth. This study was obtain the nutrient characteristics and growth regulators (PGR) of organic (eggshells, banana peels, moringa leaves, onion bean sprouts, hump) which have potential as liquid fertilizer (LOF). research conducted from July August 2022 using a descriptive-analytic method. Organic fermented anaerobically. The...
Female birds whose bodies contain environmental contaminants produce eggs with shells that are likewise contaminated, making bird eggshells appropriate indicators for monitoring toxins. Common include organic mercury compounds, especially methylmercury, which known to bioaccumulate and biomagnify in the food chain. Black storks (Ciconia nigra) predominantly consume fish thus at risk high intake...
Heterogeneous catalysis has an advantage of easy separation the catalyst after biodiesel is produced. CaO known to be efficient heterogeneous for production. Taking into account that a key component eggshells, effectiveness eggshells as rapeseed oil transesterification with methanol was investigated and optimal conditions production were determined applying RSM methodology. The influence three ...
