In the field of solar radio, the high performance solar radio receiver which has high sensitivity, large dynamic range is necessary to observe the radio storm fine structure. The low noise floor solar radio receiver can meet the observation request. By the theory analysis of the radio storm receiver’s noise floor and combining with the characteristic of solar radio storm, the paper submits a me...

Recent advances in the design of high dynamic range (HDR) monitors enable the display of images having a large dynamic range, close to that encountered in the real world. As their usage will increase, we will be confronted with the problem of rerendering images that have been mapped to standard dynamic range (SDR) displays so that they look natural on HDR monitors. We address this issue for SDR...

This paper presents a new class AB programmable square-root domain (SRD) filter. The main advantages of the proposed circuits are low power consumption, wide input dynamic range with small standby current and potential for low-voltage operation. Simulation results confirm the validity of the proposed design technique and the high performance of the proposed circuits. Key-Words: Square-root doma...

This paper proposes two efficient residue to binary converters on a new three-moduli set{2^2n-1,2^4n,2^2n+1} using the Chinese Remainder Theorem. The proposed reverseconverters are adder based and memoryless. In comparison with other moduli sets with similardynamic range, the new schemes out-perform the existing schemes in terms of both hardwarecost and relative performance....

We introduce a new metric for dynamic range of displays that closely corresponds with human perception in practical settings. The Number of Distinguishable Grays is a count of the visible luminance steps from the deepest black to the brightest white a display produces under known ambient conditions.

This paper presents design techniques to evaluate the noise and distortion of continuous time Gm-C filters. Also presents techniques to improve the dynamic range of such filters keeping a relation of integer numbers between the transconductors. Furthermore the comparison of the dynamic range for the same power using different structures is presented.

We report a concept to increase the dynamic range of capillary driven microfluidics for use in point-of-care diagnostics [1]. The chip uses one-pipetting step of 20 μL of human serum spiked with C-reactive protein (CRP) at 100 ng/mL. A four-fold increase in signal strength is achieved by varying the flow rate in six different reaction chambers.

An anchoring theory of lightness perception comprehensively explains many characteristics of human visual system such as lightness constancy and its spectacular failures which are important in the perception of images. We present a novel approach to tone mapping of high dynamic range (HDR) images which is inspired by the anchoring theory. The key concept of this method is the decomposition of a...
