A new [2+2] tetra-hydrazone macrocyclic receptor was significantly amplified in a dynamic combinatorial library upon templation with alkaline earth metal ions. After optimisation the product could be isolated in 95% yield and its interaction with ions was investigated by NMR and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

Molecular cubes constructed from catechol-functionalized tribenzotriquinacenes and 1,4-phenylene diboronic acids were synthesized in a one-pot procedure by crosslinking 20 individual components through a dynamic covalent approach. Structural identity of the nanocubes was confirmed by mass spectrometry and (1)H-NMR spectroscopy.

Fibrous nanosilica (KCC-1) oxynitrides are promising solid-base catalysts. Paradoxically, when their nitrogen content increases, their catalytic activity decreases. This counterintuitive observation is explained here for the first time using (15) N-solid-state NMR spectroscopy enhanced by dynamic nuclear polarization.

A series of oligoparaxylene model compounds with two to six paraxylene units was synthesised and the resulting mixtures of atropisomers with one to five axes of chirality were analysed by dynamic (1)H NMR spectroscopy. The number of atropisomers was found to constitute part of the Losanitsch series.

The spectral parameters of the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra are dependent on the chemical environment around the nuclei, making NMR spectroscopy a powerful method for studying molecular structure and dynamics at the atomic level. Conversely, the spectral parameters can be calculated if one knows the molecular structure. The spectral parameter prediction plays a key role in many appl...

NMR spectroscopy is a powerful tool for the investigation of protein folding and misfolding, providing a characterization of molecular structure, dynamics and exchange processes, across a very wide range of timescales and with near atomic resolution. In recent years NMR methods have also been developed to study protein folding as it might occur within the cell, in a de novo manner, by observing...

The combination of ex situ dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) leads to signal-to-noise enhancements of 10(3)-10(4) compared to conventional NMR. Ex situ DNP, however, is ill-suited for collecting the array of transients needed in 2D NMR spectroscopy. Spatially encoded single-scan 2D NMR methods can circumvent this drawback, yet these "ultrafast" experiments...

Recent advances in spectroscopic methods allow the identification of minute fluctuations in a protein structure. These dynamic properties have been identified as keys to some biological processes. The consequences of this structural flexibility can be far-reaching and they add a new dimension to the structure-function relationship of biomolecules. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy a...

Widely used higher-dimensional Fourier transform (FT) NMR spectroscopy suffers from two major drawbacks: (i) The minimal measurement time of an N-dimensional FT NMR experiment, which is constrained by the need to sample N - 1 indirect dimensions, may exceed by far the measurement time required to achieve sufficient signal-to-noise ratios. (ii) The low resolution in the indirect dimensions sever...

hydrolysis of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in alkaline conditions using two systems of naoh/methanol and koh/isopropanol has been studied and the formation of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer was systematically examined using nmr spectroscopy and dsc measurements. vinyl acetate weight percentage and the degree of hydrolysis were calculated from nmr spectroscopy and it is shown that hydrolys...
