Introduction: Voxel-based analysis of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) data has been widely used to access the alterations of white matter (WM) integrity at a group level [1]. However, the histological mechanism underlying the observed DTI index (FA/MD) changes is still poorly understood, posing a major difficulty in interpreting DTI findings [2]. For example, it remains unclear to what extent th...

BACKGROUND Previous studies have failed to detect high body mass index (BMI) as a risk factor for difficult tracheal intubation (DTI). BMI was investigated as a risk factor for DTI in patients planned for direct laryngoscopy. METHODS A cohort of 91,332 consecutive patients planned for intubation by direct laryngoscopy was retrieved from the Danish Anesthesia Database. A four-point scale to gr...

We review the normal anatomy of the white matter (WM) tracts as they appear on directional diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) color maps, which will almost certainly be available to the general radiologist as part of a commercial DTI software package in the near future. Anatomic drawings and gross dissection photographs are correlated with the directional DTI color maps to review the anatomy of tho...

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Disparities in outcome for head and neck cancer (HNC) treatment are related to diverse factors including tumor stage, socioeconomic status, and treatment compliance. Latency to initiation of therapy may contribute to worse outcomes for underserved populations. The objectives of this study were to measure the interval from diagnosis of HNC to initiation of cancer treatment ...

Many rat/mouse pressure ulcer (PU) models have been developed to test different hypotheses to gain deeper understanding of various causative risk factors, the progress of PUs, and assessing effectiveness of potential treatment modalities. The recently emphasized deep tissue injury (DTI) mechanism for PU formation has received increased attention and several studies reported findings on newly de...

A woman with DE after CO poisoning was longitudinally evaluated by DTI, performed during the following periods: at the phase of acute CO poisoning, the lucid interval, neurologic deterioration due to DE, and neurologic recovery. The present case revealed the long-term course of DTI parameters after CO poisoning and the usefulness of DTI for quantifying neurologic damage after CO poisoning.

Abstract BACKGROUND Resection of brain metastases (BM) close to the motor cortex and corticospinal tract (CST) bears a significant risk for treatment-related morbidity. Navigated transcranial mapping (nTMS) combined with diffusion-tensor-imaging (DTI) based fiber tracking (DTI-FTTMS) is valuable tool guide neurosurgeon along CST preserve function. This study aims proof practicability DTI-FTTMS ...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE DTI in cerebral X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy may demonstrate abnormalities in both affected and nonaffected WM; these values have not been studied serially after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The purpose of this study was to study pretransplant and posttransplant DTI parameters serially and ultimately to determine the ability of pretransplant DTI parameters to...

Abstract Aim of study To evaluate the role diffuse tensor imaging (DTI) in detecting structural alterations following TBI with persistent symptoms without findings on conventional imaging. Methods This was a prospective that enrolled total 30 individuals (12 females and 18 males), 6 control no history trauma 24 previous trauma. All subjects underwent brain MRI DTI. The eigenvalues genue spleniu...
