In her article "Networks of Collaboration and Creation in Latin American Digital Literature" Carolina Gainza examines how production and reception of literature have been affected by digital technology, with special emphasis on issues related to Latin American digital literature. Gainza analyzes Jaime Alejandro Rodriguez's Narratopedia, Doménico Chiappe's La Huella de Cosmos, and Leonardo Valen...

Artificial neural networks are applied for modelling the input circuits of the digital part at the analogue/digital interface in mixed-mode circuits. The generalization property of the neural networks is exploited to apply the models in a set of previously unknown situations. It is also shown that mixed-level analogue behavioural simulation is enabled if the same modelling concept is applied.

Numerous neural network hardware implementations now use digital reconfigurable devices such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) thanks to an interesting compromise between the hardware efficiency of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) and the flexibility of a simple software-like handling. Another current trend of neural research focuses on elementary neural mechanisms such ...

This paper describes a digital forensic model for investigating computer networks, focusing specifically on network log mining. A thorough examination of log files is needed to reveal the hidden actions of criminals in computer networks. The proposed model specifies the steps that forensic investigators can follow with regard to the extraction and examination of digital evidence from log files ...

A Digital Fountain is an approach used to provide reliability in multicast networks without the use of receiver initiated packet retransmissions. Prior work to Digital Fountain has shown that use of receiver initiated retransmissions to recover lost data is unscalable in multicast networks and the impact is significant in lossy networks. Instead, like many other techniques that transmit redunda...

As digital contents are increasingly available over the Internet, the user’s mobility also is scaling up as wireless networks are widely adopted. Although the Internet offers a convenient medium for the transmission of digital contents, some issues such as network conditions, computing resources and receiver heterogeneity may affect the QoS of such transmissions. Thus, the convergence of cloud ...

A social network is a set of people, organizations, or other social entities connected by a set of social relationships, such as friendship, co-working or information exchange to augment social network. While the traditional forms of social networks are often constrained geographically, the emergence of social information infrastructures mediated by information and communication technologies pr...

As most aspect of our life move to digital networks, crimes comes with them. Our lives increasingly depend on the internet and digital networks, but these create new vulnerabilities and new ways for criminals to exploits the digital environment. Not only can many existing crimes be replicated in online environments, but novel crimes that exploit specific features of digital networks have emerge...

Continued progress in both civil and military radio-frequency (RF) digital avionics applications is overstressing the capabilities and reliability of existing RF communication networks based on coaxial cables on board modern aircrafts. Future avionics systems will require high-bandwidth on-board communication links that are lightweight, immune to electromagnetic interference, and highly reliabl...

Digital implementations of sorting networks that rely on a digital signal processor core are not as efficient as their analog counterparts. This paper builds on the comparators for which efficient analog implementations exist that employ operational amplifiers. From a statistical point of view, comparators are based on nonlinear means. Their probability density function and the firstand second-...
