The first aim of the study was to compare selected meat quality parameters in porkers without the gene RYR1 (T) (ryanodine receptor gene). These were porkers slaughtered at 100 to 115 kg and 116 to 130 kg live weight. The second aim of the study was to determine the occurrence frequency of standard-quality meat (red, firm, nonexudative [RFN]) and the occurence frequency of defective meat (pale,...
Blocked mutants of Micromonospora echinospora defective in the production of the potent antitumor agent calicheamicin are described. Analysis of intermediates produced by blocked mutants indicates a branched biosynthetic pathway. Mutants that produced some, but not all, calicheamicin forms are also described.
<p>Product quality depends on adequate human resources, methods, raw materials, environment, equipment and machinery. PT. XYZ has implemented a product control system with the aim that products produced are in accordance established standards. Through control, it is hoped company can improve effectiveness of preventing occurrence defective products. fault tree analysis method order to pro...
To acquire information on the relationships between structural maturation of proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and their transport along the secretory pathway, we have analyzed the destiny of an assembly-defective form of the trimeric vacuolar storage glycoprotein phaseolin. In leaves of transgenic tobacco, where assembly-competent phaseolin is correctly targeted to the vacuole, defect...
We have characterized by T1 fingerprint analysis several defective interfering (DI) double-stranded RNAs of the simple yeast virus ScV. A common sequence of about 0.5 to 0.6 kilobase pairs, including both 3' termini of the parental RNA, was present in each DI RNA. Several DI RNAs had novel T1 oligonucleotides not present in their parental RNA.
In practice the items received in a lot may contain defective items, and the screening process to eliminate the defective items may involve both a Type I and a Type II error. Due to the defective items and the inspection errors, shortages may sometimes occur. In this paper, we develop an economic order quantity model with imperfect quality items, inspection errors, shortage backordering, and sa...
The aim of the research is to explore the impact of cognitive biases and social networks in testing and developing software. The research will aim to address two critical areas: i) to predict defective parts of the software, ii) to determine the right person to test the defective parts of the software. Every phase in software development requires analytical problem solving skills. Moreover, usi...
In e-testing it is important to administer tests composed of good quality question items. By the term “quality” we intend the potential of an item in effectively discriminating between strong and weak students and in obtaining tutor’s desired difficulty level. Since preparing items is a difficult and timeconsuming task, good items can be re-used for future tests. Among items with lower performa...
Quality control of ribosomes is critical for cellular function since protein mistranslation leads to severe physiological consequences. We report evidence of a previously unrecognized ribosome quality control system in bacteria that operates at the level of 70S to remove defective ribosomes. YbeY, a previously unidentified endoribonuclease, and the exonuclease RNase R act together by a process ...
In this paper, the problem of print quality inspection on pharmaceutical capsules is addressed. Good print quality, a property that makes the print legible, is of utmost importance for identification and preventing mix-ups among various types of capsules. Spatial distortion obtained at image formation process, where a 3-D surface gets projected onto a 2-D image plane, causes print appearance va...
