A common practice for detailed assessment of masonry bridges is to use recorded deflection signature of mid-span of such structures due to predefined loading schemes. However, measuring the deflection of bridges with tall piers or those situated over deep valleys introduces certain difficulties, since common deflection-meters require a reference point relative to which the measureme...

objective: resistance to fracture is a critical issue when it comes to tooth restoration. the purpose of this study was to evaluate the fracture resistance of pulpotomized primary molars restored with glass ionomer (gi), amalgam and composite resin with and without cusp reduction.   methods: in this in-vitro experimental study, 60 extracted primary teeth were randomly divided into 6 groups of 1...

By a cusp V we shall mean the image of the unit disk D under a bounded injective holomorphic map h into C whose derivative vanishes at exactly one point. The simplest example is the Neil parabola, given by h(ζ) = (ζ, ζ). See [3, 4] for background and theory on the Neil parabola, which is pictured in Figure 1. A generalization of a cusp is a petal. A petal is the image of the unit disk D under a...

We study water waves propagating over a smooth obstacle in fluid of varying depth, motivated by the observation that submerged islands ocean act as effective lenses increase amplitude and destructive power tsunami near focal points. show substantial height (compared to depth) lead strong focusing their immediate vicinity, generate caustics either cusp or butterfly type. highlight similarities d...

Objectives This study is aimed to introduce an unusual case of a female with two talon teeth on both maxillary lateral incisors. Case A 38-year-old female was referred to oral medicine department, Qom university of medical sciences for routin examinations. Bilateral maxillary talon cusp was observed on maxillary lateral incisors. Future evaluation revealed impaction of maxillary left canine an...

We define generalized Mellin transforms of mixed cusp forms, show its convergence, and prove that the function obtained by such a Mellin transform of a mixed cusp form satisfies a certain functional equation. We also prove that a mixed cusp form can be identified with a holomorphic form of the highest degree on an elliptic variety.

Talon cusp is a rare developmental anomaly that occurs most commonly on the lingual side of the incisors. It may cause various clinical problems, such as occlusal interference, irritation of the tongue, pulpal necrosis, caries and periodontal problems. Genetics is thought to be a major cause for the occurrence of this anomaly. This article reports three cases of talon cusp in three members of t...
